@@anne-aymonecorbisier1281 same. It's really frustrating, and to make it worse I'm pregnant but Australia has shitty maternity options so being in that limbo of sizes is even harder. Everything is always a little too snug or to big and look weird.
Here in Belgium, I've been pleasantly surprised with "Paprika" brand, the only brand where I know exactly which size will fit (size 1 to 2 for bombers etc). I don't think you can find it in Australia unfortunately :/ Hoping you can find a brand that fits you better 🤞
I'm all for the PPP channel slowly turning into a "just hanging out with my friends being goofy, making stuff, trying on clothes and having a lovely time". It has the same vibes as being the wallflower around your friends or watching your comfort series with all your beloved characters. It's so pure and cozy and loving.
@@nopa_ of course. And I go with my daughters. That's what mom's and their daughters do. Still did not feel like mom and daughter. (Btw, I am a woman.)
Since your break... I feel like u are more yourself now... I've always enjoyed watching you but the last couple videos I feel have been more your actual personality then everything u have filmed before. Kudos
Right! I'm thinking the same. I'm a 2xl but like wearing more baggy/long clothes so usually go for 3xl (unless the brastierer area goes really low then gotta wear my size lol). But I too love her shape and wish I could get down to her size.
@@sarandipityinthestarssarah4076 yessss baggy definitely is comfortable, I like having my tummy and nether regions covered so I love shirts to be around that length... which is why I usually end up wearing dressed with leggings or pants underneath lool. Some look like long shirts 😁
“Caitlyn this top is really cute!” “Do you want it?” “No!” I LITERALLY burst out laughing!😂😂💖 I love Caitlyn! Also, I love that patchwork dress on her!😱🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼💖💖💖💖💖💖
I just love how Caitlyn just goes with it. She's putting on clothes that I wouldn't want to wear either but she's just like sure, whatever. We're doing this. Can Caitlyn do a Shein haul from her Facebook ads for Alex?
I think it'd be really interesting if you could buy a corset made from a historical costumer or someone who has historical corset patterns. I think it'd be really interesting to hear your take on cheap and expensive modern corsets compared to how they were previously constructed.
@@Coffeegirl739 She's amazing but I've heard her mention she doesn't do commissions due to the cost for the consumer. Would certainly be awesome to check out for info though
Just recently found out I'm classified as midsized, and when Caitlyn said it was that size where NOTHING FITS YOU PROPERLY, that resonated with my soul.
I know Caitlyn wasn't crazy about the clothes that aren't her style, but as another midsize person who struggles to find clothes, I am so glad she did. Please tell her thank you. She looked absolutely amazing in all those clothes, and it made me feel like, if she looks amazing and is the same size as me, maybe sometimes I don't look too bad either.
Here's a interesting factoid for u dear! As far as I'm aware corsets are VERY rarely ever worn directly against the skin. Boning isn't exactly comfortable..corsets are costly...ect ect. A fabric layer under the corset is very much in the norm for period dependant clothing. 💕
Interestingly enough, the corsets with the most shape are the ones that are cut in on a curve with very little boning. Modern corsets are heavily boned but cut on a straight line so the curving isn’t as dramatic! Also! If you want a more dramatic shape you can pad the hips and the top, that way when you tighten it it’ll rest on your waist instead of digging in.
I would recommend that Alex watches Bernadette Banner's video comparing Victorian to modern corsets. Or even just Bernadette's Video about her busting myths about corsets
I love u but I wouldn’t recommend buying a huge amount from shien , I think for ppl who cant afford it who can only afford or get their size at shien it’s valid but they use animal fur and they use child labour , more than other companies and it’s makes me sad that there’s not as many places out there that sell good styled stuff for the same price :/
Caitlyn's face when she saw the first item is the face of every plus size girl when we see what limited selection of styled companies think we want lol.
I'm loving Alex's "cool wine Aunt" vibes. I just live for this. You and your friends trying on clothes is like the true reason youtube as a website was created.
✨ Wearing a under shirt/vest will protect your corset, as the skin and oil builds up it will slowly damage the corset (and make it dirty). Also... hang your corset over a coat hager so you don't bend the boning rolling it up or folding it ! ✨
"Heinous!" In Pretty Pastels closet, some Shein fashion ad clothing is considered especially heinous. The dedicated wine sipping friends who try on these clothes are members of an elite squad whose motto is "Call me, I'm single!" These are their stories. Dun dun!
This is one of my favorite videos you’ve ever posted Alex! Every minute was so entertaining and you guys have such funny and amazing chemistry on camera.
I recommend Orchard Corset. They have very good quality corsets for a reasonable price. They are my most worn corsets. I wear underbust corsets normally. Also Lucy's Corsetry on youtube has so many videos on trying on corsets, how to properly put them on and "season" them (or wear them in to fit better and last longer). She also has an online shop.
As someone who has corsets from corset story, as well as other brands and things I made myself; I don't recommend them. You can find much better patterns and quality elsewhere for about the same or only a little more $. The corset story cuts/fits are quite straight and their materials tend to be heavy but poor quality. At first glance they may seem great, but they don't hold up and the cut and material combos aren't good for anything other than occasional and brief costume wear - like these Amazon corsets.
I would love to know Caitlyn's measurements , that would be super helpful and I'd love more hauls especially ones in her style. I relate to her a lot being in size limbo between normal and plus
You get these corsets everywhere! I've bought one of them for a cosplay 12 years ago, they're still exactly the same lol A real corset for waist training has steel boning, not cheap plastic, a proper string to close it and it often comes with a manual about how to tie it correctly. Also the material is much more thick and sturdy. When you buy a real corset, the sizes aren't S, M, L etc, but your waist size. I really cringed when you showed these corsets :') and I'd love to see a haul with really nice ones. Also, Caitlyn, you are adorable!!
I saw that you can get the same clothes from yesstyle and shein, I'd be interested in a video that compares shein to yesstyle, because shipping such as returns on shein are often way easier than on yesstyle
Tbh, the main difference between the sites is just what sorts of styles they cater to. I shop off of Yesstyle because I like some of the more niche Japanese fashion sub-genres (especially mode style). Quality-wise, they all are warehouse-sourced, probably unethically made, cheap clothes that are frequently knockoffs. The only reason I buy off Yesstyle is I can't find anything like what I like in-store in the US, and the brands that I have found sell them for $100-1000+, which I don't want to risk when it comes to international shipping and returns.
@@flowercity546 Romwe is the same too. Their apps are almost identical in style and everything, but I found Shein is the only size inclusive as far as the range. Like thank gosh because I'm a plus girl and that's the only place I'll buy clothes from now because the only other stuff my size is granny style.
@@laurelf2691 Shein and Romwe are actually sister companies, Shein is just the more "elevated" one if that makes sense. I've seen other RU-vid videos where the items ordered from Romwe came in Shein bags, and have had it happen to me as well.
@@flowercity546 Exactly! It's so hard to find things I like that are actually affordable. The only problem I have with clothes on Romwe and probably YesStyle (I've ordered skincare from them but not clothes yet) is the sizing, since Asian sizes are typically smaller than US, so I'm a bit wary of ordering dresses or skirts because I'm so unsure.
Caitlyn is strikingly beautiful! One of those lucky people that can pull off any colour. Also I love the lil happy, shimmy dance, I do the same thing when I try on new clothes I like.
I always found Shein to be really accurately sized compared to UK sizing! A little big when the items were stretchy but overall it was good and is super easy to get second hand.
First thought: the patchwork dress with the button up with "sketchings" would be interesting together. That dress looked amazing on her!!! Also that Bratz outfit with the shoes on the second shelf, far left would be super cute
So much ‘I’m straight but wanna kiss?” Vibes, living for it. It reminds me of sleepovers with “straight” girl friends where it’s just constant flirting waiting for someone to make a move and no one ever does lol
If I could find accurate sizing on these sites I'd buy but as a plus sized women it can be hard accepting the size you've worn for years let alone when you need to buy 2-3 sizes up.
Also really weird terrible feeling fabrics (cheap feeling) and so many strange sewing errors and low quality sewing. It doesn't work well for plus size women
I am plus sized and find I order in my size and it usually work fine. I always find it best to read the comments, and always check the sizing, so far no problems. I wear a 1x and order a 1x from SHEIN.
