I've met Sheku as I study at the Royal Acedemy Of Music and I can officially say he is the best and most humblest Cellist and Musician in the world

@@blacksling9 not in this case. Yo-Yo Ma is a better cellist. There are things that are objectively comparable like technical skill and Ma is more technically skilled than Sheku.

Caressing and dancing with both the cello and the music, he becomes transcendent. He is, truly, a prodigious talent, at one with his cello as a voice of the eternal. His sister's accompaniment is just as masterful and, together, they are as one, revealing the soul of the music as a living, breathing being, full of both pathos and joy. Wonderful.

When the lovely retired cello maker said that he couldn't describe how he felt hearing Sheku play the cello he had created, I had a mouthful of wine and burst into tears at the same time. Messy but wow! So moving, they are all great musicians. We are blessed by folks such as these. "All the virtuosity that a cello can offer", yes, in the hands of such a great upcoming talent.

This is the most incredible cello (and piano) playing I have ever heard in my life. I am blown away at God Almighty that He placed this much gifting and brilliance in one family. When Sheku was playing I felt as if he was plucking every string in my heart. I absolutely love string instruments. It has been years since I have played the violin (and piano) but I would love to become wealthy one day just to hear the Kanneh-Mason family in concert. Isata played the most difficult runs on the piano and is so poised. This is pure excellence. I commend the parents Stuart and Kadiatu for providing structure, direction, and giving their children a clear assignment to set their focus. This is the secret sauce to exceptional parenting.

At the "it's far too late" age of 62, I am studying the Elegie piano solo as part of my preparation for grade 8. As Sheku says, it seems written for the cello and hearing it played this way is so revealing of the voicing and helpful.

I'm from Melbourne, Australia. Last year, I visited my daughter who was working in the UK. When she had two weeks off we travelled to Dublin, Paris and Berlin. Our last day we had to travel from Berlin to Oxford as she had bought us tickets to the opening night of the Oxford Chamber Music Festival. After travelling all day, we were so tired and said this is madness and we contemplated just staying in the hotel. Thankfully, we got there. The whole evening was excellent and Sheku was brilliant.

@TwelfthRoot2
@TwelfthRoot2 4 года назад
@@Ad-Lo It's more than luck that a person has siblings that also play instruments which allows them to all play together? Yeah that is luck. I'm not saying that their talents are luck. You completely missed the point. BTW, you mentioned genes, which is the definition of luck haha.
@deathhy7590
@deathhy7590 2 года назад
@@TwelfthRoot2 you said “THEY have a lucky FAMILY” not that a singular person is lucky to have siblings that also play instruments. two completely different statements. Their entire family isn’t “lucky” it’s simply hard work. seeing so many prodigies from one family is not luck.
@TwelfthRoot2
@TwelfthRoot2 2 года назад
@@deathhy7590 you completely missed the point here. yes they are lucky. no their talent isn't a product of luck. they are lucky to have other close family members that love music and want to play together which has nothing to do with skill. so please take your complaining somewhere else.
@deathhy7590
@deathhy7590 2 года назад
@@TwelfthRoot2 Again, that’s not luck. they all decided to play instruments. it wasn’t magically caused that they all picked up instruments, their parents did they. which is why we contribute some of their success to their parents, as well as their hard work. not “luck”, try again

Love your cello playing . I saw you rushing out of Bounds Green tube station with cello on your back , think it was last year sometime, I think you where doing some performances at south bank then. I’ve been studying Classical Guitar for about 4 years now, City Lit, loving it. I watched the 2020 young musicians. The Chinese guy who won on marimba percussion was brill, can’t remember his name, is it Fang Something? I liked the guy on Iranian type drum too. Great creative percussive sounds with both his voice & the drum, I liked the way he used the glass cup, and the atmosphere, reminded me of that band I just discovered not long ago: (Black Midi) brill. I’d love to come to one of your performances soon, when virus lockdown has ended it would be a very special treat to remember. God Bless to you & Fam. Earl Heaven.
