It's so disrespectful that her name is not being mentioned with the greats just because she doesn't have a hit record. Someone write the woman some hits!!!
It’s something so unique about how she adds the churchy nuances here and there with certain notes and runs. Whenever she does it, it immediately puts me in the mind frame of Dorinda Clark Cole/Vanessa Bell Armstrong. Then she immediately brings it back down to smooth R&B. I’ve listened to a lot of singers and she’s the only one I know who blends the two styles uniquely in that format. 😍😍
@@crystaljames-owensiii4430 yes, of course I know lol but Ijs this has been her signature way of singing since before she landed that role. And she does the churchy run and notes in nuances, not the entire time she sings. It’s just so interesting and unique to me 🫶🏾
you can always tell when a singer also plays the piano they use all the scales and harmonic scales with their vocal choices. This was amazing! I had chills. I love the side view where you see her breathe and take those real singer breaths. She's a legit authentic singer who understands technique! Without those deep belly pouting breaths there is no way you can sing this fluidly and hit those hit notes and come back down the scale all while being connected. A+ SHELEA!!
She simply should be called the voice!! She needs an award for all of her performances and for all of her hard work and piano 🎹 playing. She deserves it all.
A singing "Angel". She is well known in the music business. Check out her interview on R&B Money podcast. She also just did a PBS tribute to Re Re Franklin.😍😍😍😍
