@@gorgeous6737 unintentional at that point. Child Sheldon was stating facts as he knew them. He skipped middle school so had no appropriate advice to offer her in return for her pep talk, and Sheldon is big on equivilent exchange. Adult Sheldon several seasons in had learned nuances of social norms and might have done it intentionally if she'd antagonised him first.
@@natashadixon8470 yeah well an issue I’m noticing this show has is that young Sheldon is growing in ways that tbbt season 1 never did so that’s a slight continuity issue but I honestly don’t care as much anymore
very touching and very well done. I think it took Sheldon about 25 till 30 years he would deliver a speech that straight from the heart actually I think it wast the speech for the Nobelprize winning somewhere at the end of the serie.
I love the look on her face the most. The twins def had a unique relationship. They had quarrels a lot but I love when the love was there. Like when Missy hugs Sheldon after dad yells at him for destroying the fridge. I love the camera pans on the parents/meemaw like it's about them only to show us Sheldon's biggest supporter of all because she lived with the boy her whole life since they shared a room.
Yeah she understands a full level, Of how amazingly impressive that speech to her was, Especially as it came from Sheldon. That would be extremely special for anyone receiving that speech, It's, In all the more meaningful since it came from a person such as Sheldon. It shows missy how much Sheldon really does look up to and care about her.
@@kimberlywiederhold627 Hes always known, but Sheldon is a proud man and wont admit to his true feelings. A good example of this was when Walowitz went to space and they were watching it back home. Sheldon was genuinely cheering his friend on. This wasn't a "sudden awareness", its always been there, it finally came out when he realized that he could no longer deny it.
@@leongregorioFinally, someone gets Sheldon. People think he is just this completely unlikeable personality. But he genuinely cares for his family and friends, just in his own way
I loved how his parents and memaw thought separately that they were talking about them 🤣 then he mentioned Missy and her eyes lit up ❤ it was so emotional!
What makes Sheldon Cooper a really great character is he's being genuine. If he gives a nice little comment about you, it's sound like it's the sweetest words you've ever heard and if he unintentionally roasted you, it feels like a knife through the heart. 😁😁😁
Yeah sheldon has this pure honesty that in certain situations it will seem cruel because he will not understand he must soften the blow before he says smt bad. But in situations where he will say smt nice it will come out perfect because he will tell it without a hint of dishonesty to make it sound better or fake.
I love how Meemaw, Mary, and George all had a look on their faces like “that speech is about me” but then Sheldon said missy and I bet the look on their faces where “👁👄👁”
The whole episode was sweet. Missy really helped Sheldon get through moving on to the next chapters of their lives. And the smile on Missy's face is just beautiful. And of course Sheldon's comment about high school causes Missy to role her eyes. Adrolable. I'm glad they made this episode for them.
I always see Sheldon and Missy as the perfect human being if they were combined. He knows what she doesn’t, she knows what he doesn’t. Each of them hates and loves the missing part which is the other one.
We already have such a character: Paige. Paige has Sheldon’s IQ and Missy’s EQ. And that’s how we know that if someone as intellectually brilliant as Sheldon has the emotional smarts of Missy, they might feel every bit of the isolation that Paige does, so it wouldn’t necessarily be the best combination.
Nobel Prize speech and his Graduation speech are well crafted and honest to those he dedicated to. Missy in Young Sheldon, Leonard, Penny, Howard, Raj and Bernadette in The Big Bang Theory. He showed his appreciation to the crucial people in his life.
I am not sure but i don't think IQ changes. They both seem to be pretty oblivious to others in their personal relationships but it does seem that Sheldon (in TBBT) seems to have forgotten some of things he picked up in his childhood, regarding personal growth and relationships.
@@firstlast-fr1le yeah somethings are different between BBT sheldon in this but I think it is acceptable because the writers of BBT didn't knew there will be a prequel or anything so I think it somethings are different it's ok maybe
I get the feeling that after his dad dies he almost regressed in the emotional maturity area by basically shitting down completely. Also young sheldon is through Sheldon's perspective as basically a flashback so it's possible he thinks he's more mature than he really was
Sheldon is often unbearable for most of Young Sheldon & BBT, but he is still likable because when it comes down to it, he always shows that he loves his family & friends in his own way. From his graduation speech to his Nobel Prize speech, he's always come through in the end.
This series completely obliterated the Sheldon Cooper in The Big Bang Theory. The more they develop young Sheldon, the more you realize how old Sheldon was not played to a full potential.
Or as someone else said in a different comment, it could be because this show is in Sheldon's perspective. So, you could argue that he sees himself (old self) the way we see young Sheldon.
Adult Sheldon had spent many years away from his family and their good influence. It took the presence of Penny (who is a lot like Missy and Meemaw,)and Amy, for Sheldon to become a bit more social
Now see, what makes this scene beautiful is that someone who wasn’t expecting to be thanked got thanked. Someone who probably thought she was worth nothing to Sheldon. And yet.
Young Sheldon is simply the best written television program being broadcast today; this short clip is a prime example!!! Chuck Knight from Buffalo, Texas. 🤠🤪✝️🙏
Over in the sheldon cooper nobel prize video, someone said they were there from the sheldon cooper valedictorian speech. And I had it in my head I was going to watch a Jim Parson's commencement speech for some reason...
Same, I wasn’t expecting to get hit that hard but the moment he said Missy and tears started flowing I’m like this rarely happens to bring me to shed some tears
This was a very beautiful moment between Sheldon and Missy. A brother thanking his sister, and showing her love. These twins may not see eye to eye all the time, but they will always have each other’s backs and be there for each other.
Really you expect great things from him? You must not know much about child stars and the effects this kind of Fame puts on them. I was actually just talking to my mom the other day about how I was worried about this actor because he's a child he started off so young and the character he has to play is so socially awkward I cannot imagine that he's having anywhere close to a normal childhood and his social developments going to be off.
@@murraydonald1497 what I said is true af 🤷 we've seen it how many times? Macaulay Culkin, Lindsay Lohan, Amanda bynes, Miley Cyrus and many more if I can name 4 off the top of my head it's pretty apparent there's a problem we need to stop ignoring. Don't believe? Look at what drew Barrymore has had to say about her young stardom or Jennette McCurdy. I'm not gonna ignore the statistics sure he'll probably grow up to be an actor but is he going to be a great person 🤷 maybe. Might leave acting all together like some of the ones I can't remember the names of anymore. I'm willing to take bets.
I actually like how both connie, mary and george had the feeling he was talking about one of them and then seeing missy's pure joy in her eyes when he said her name. But sheldon just couldnt help himself roasting her (probably) unintentionally xD
This scene has hit close to home today.. I graduated yesterday and I am so scared of not knowing what awaits me.. I will be brave thanks to the cooper twins
I love this moment. It's incredibly touching. And I love how memah thought it might be about here, Mary definitely thought it was about her, and his dad thought it might be about him too, and missy was so happy when it was about her.
So sweet. He loved her even though he didn't always know how to express it. Twins are bonded in ways that we do not understand. Why Sheldon and not Missy? Why was he the genius and not her? Maybe she was blessed with the good sense of a child her age and helped keep him grounded. They shared a room for years. I think that was good. They could share with each other things that no one else in the family would understand.
And this is why Young Sheldon is my FAVORITE show!! You'll learn a lot from all the characters and all of their side stories actually happen in real life... I don't think I'll ever want this series to end... 😭😢💞
My favorite moment of the show. Also one that came in really well timed for me, I saw it a few months ago, right before my own high school graduation where I was set to give a speech. I had spent years mentally mapping out the speech and months writing drafts but nothing stuck as the "it" idea, the speech I could picture myself giving. One afternoon I was watching this show, this scene came up and it immediately inspired me on what direction I had to take my speech in: one of thanks. I wrote a speech focused on thanking those who'd gotten me to where I was, giving personal addresses to each of them. I wrote a draft right after watching this episode, and that was more or less the final speech I delivered a few weeks later. It's weird to think about it, but Young Sheldon will always be a part of my life thanks to that speech, and this scene that inspired it.
Aww that was the most beautiful graduation speech I've ever heard! That friendly look on Missy's face at 1:18 really made her look like she was cherishing all the love Sheldon shared with her! He really loves his twin sister and she loves her twin brother too! Some people wait a lifetime for "A Moment Like This!" This scene always brings tears of joy to my eyes and also brings a very big smile to my face every time I watch this! 🥰💞
There is always a special connection between twins ( they are like two pieces of one whole entity). They may fight but they subconsciously always miss each other.
i consider young sheldon an alternate reality, CLOSE to the Big Bang Theory Universe. this is because practically ALL the characters here are better developed and much, much more likeable and relatable than their BBT counterparts. Take this speech by Sheldon for example. its clear here that his bond to Missy is much stronger than what we see in BBT, and it will only get stronger as the seasons continue. (it also helps that the children play their roles to perfection)
Things change with time as adulthood comes....his father changed with time, they have already started giving hints aby his father's death and cheating scandal.Sheldon's lyf changed after his father's death when georgie had to support his family and sheldon went off to study
the sad part is that Missy lives a normal life unlike Sheldon who never understand sthe world for what it is. I had a friend like Sheldon and the irony is that he worked at CERN hadron collider. A seriously disturbed and lost individual with me being his only friend. really sad dude
The fact that this show exists BECAUSE of BBT's success kind of disproves that idea. It's a different show, but it was the catalyst that spurned this wonderful show.
