Shelf Hacks Mods and improvements (Game Room Display Ideas) 

I am sure you are as good if not better! most of the improvements ive made have been by just doing things like covering up jump cuts with broll and investing in a better tripod and lighting. the rest is just continuing to do it. Its challenging which in turn is very fun. thank you!

That was a happy mistake too! Now I think its an excellent way to use that little bit of extra space. I think usually it would go unused so i dig it and it looks great!

@@DiskCart I have to agree, simple is better! I really have to implement one of your raiser solution into my display. My Metroid Amiibo and a DS Box with a DS inside felt of my top shelves. I was lucky nothing broke as they landed in a box on the ground. I used a card board box that wasnt flat enough as a raiser and it is no good. Did it already happen to you that some of your items felt of your shelves? Thanks for the good comment on my collection, I must say I really love yours as well 😊

Definitely! They are very close to the pop figure size as well so they may work together.

Love the idea. Seeing more of the consoles like that would be great I think I understand what your thinking so ill keep an eye put for a buyable product but alsonthinking this may need to be diy.

yeah man thats an awesome idea and no 100% permenant. A great way to fill the back and still be able to change it whenever. Foam board is great!

I was also going to suggest scrap wood strips as an alternative to the foam as a case back stop, I'm glad you are finding success with it!

Tsquare for the win! For several years I worked in an architectural firm as a draftsman but its been a long time since then. I think thise skills have been helpful for a ton of things now though lol! I like the thin shelves too especially if i only plan to put games there. The thinner shelves I have here are more expensive but so very awesome

Yeah sounds like a great deal to me! these are items specifically made for a niche group of people so typically the prices are much higher. Id say you got a great deal!

Kenz im going to put this out there. In the last few months or so your quality has jumped by 3000% its blowing my mind. As for the shelves you can cut them for sure but I used small width shelves from ikeas smaller width bookcases. I believe they are just a thinner billy essentially. Same depth just dif width.

Nostalgia says Ocarina of Time, but.. Currently my favorite and I feel the best overall is breath of the wild. That world was my life for so long and when i return its like going home. I felt it was full of life, puzzles and I still find myself curious about what all is possible. Love Breath of the wild. but before botw it was oot for sure.

First of all I apologize for taking so long to get back to you! I do my best to respond to all comments. I definitely feel your pain too. Ive had a couple L5 - S1 lower back surgerys so far for an injury I got while in afghanistan. Back pain is the absolute worst and I hope your surgery works perfectly for you. As far as displaying your collection in a smaller space. I think what I would do Is have games in shelves for the most part and keep out the ones that you like the most to see. I really like displaying for that purpose. You can get way more from these physical things by just seeing them more often. especially when some of the artwork is incredible! I know its not the best answer to your question. @@DiskCart Yeah my game room is really small and trying to figure out how to have my collection displayed and out there to see and actually enjoy. I have a lot of games and most I have to keep in storage bins in the storage area of my house cause I don't have a lot of space.

Im a wild man and just generally know what shelves i need for the space. when they arrive i move them all over the place until they settle in. The shelves in my tv room have been in 4 different locations before theyve settled in. My brain i suppose is more "get the material" and figure out the rest later lol

lol! The mod master! I was tempted to put small clips of me saying "LIFE HACK!" at the end of each hack.

There are absolutely some options for this. Im testing a few out right now that may work. so far they are all pretty short width. usually around 13 inches or so wide. Im working with one from ikea and a couple from amazon meant for bathroom items. What I am really looking for is a perfect length riser for billy that would be amazing. As soon as I get the buyable options I will get a video out so you can check it out. One thing is for sure a riser is great for those shelves.

Yeah it kinda blew my mind! I couldnt believe id only seen it recently though id used boxes prior.

Its been a struggle lately to figure out my set lighting but we are getting there. It should at least be a lot safer now as I wall mounted most of the lights with specialized clamps. so no more light stands to knock over!

i dont suppose u know how high the shelf are ikea just says how wide they are but not height wise

@@50MiraGaming 79.5 inches . But you can add more to the height if you needed with an addon.

Sometimes thise small things make a big difference. ALL the small things!
