I was told about this service and thought it was a great Idea, however I went to my local Shell garage and they would not activate the pump as they said use of mobile phones on the forecourt was prohibited unless it was in a vehicle
+Flaming T I might have to try another Shell garage and see what happens, just out of curiosity, is the Shell garage that u show in the Video the one at Horley as it looks familiar but I aint lived round that way in donkey year so could be wrong
DMFishery yes because if you drop your phone on the floor the battery could explode or the phone hitting the c floor could create a spark and start a fire that's why I have my phone on a holder on the bars like a sat nav
Flaming T its not just about the bike being too heavy, its the petroleum company policy that if the rider is on a bike and struggling to fill up his tank, ask him to get off the bike first, and take off the helmet coz there are more chances of running off as the cashier doesn’t know you. Thats a sensible policy i guess!!
Iron Maiden .... not that I am aware of. Using the phone whilst on the forecourt is the only way the system would work to which Shell have set up so must be legal. As for fuelling whilst sitting on the bike, I didn't know there was such a rule... but again, this is something that She'll offer so would have to assume that they have looked into it. Thank you for your comments, food for thought for Shell to look into maybe.
Flaming T using phone on forecourt is not illegal this system is designed for cars so your phone is always in the car what forecourt operators are worried about is you could drop your phone on floor lithion batterys can explode or the metal on the phone could make a spark when hitting floor setting any spilt petrol on fire
