Hunting for seashells among rocks and in tide pools is so exciting. On this beach walk I shelled in the rock pools at MacAurther on Singer Island. I found a few lion’s paws scallops and a fantastic orange paw which is one of my favorite shell finds, some sea glass, a fulgurator olive and we’ll talk a little bit about the different color forms (7) they come in, a nice big shark eye moonsnail, coffee bean trivia and I wiggled some shells free. If you’d like to see more. Join me, let’s walk north Palm Beach at John D. MacArthur Beach State Park.

Wow, there was a lot of variety this time! Ceriths, Turbans, Olives, Scallops, Trivia, and more. I really enjoyed seeing how many shells were trapped in the rocky tide pools; so different in appearance to the ones over here! Thank you for teaching me about the Fulgorator Olive forms...not sure if I'll remember them all, but its nice to have an overview of them! Thanks for sharing another wonderful trip to the beach 🏖️

Glad you like the comparisons ❤️ I think that’s what I like too about the shells you find-amazing! I have another trip there I’ll share in those rocks sometime soon…it’s the mother load from that area. I’m almost embarrassed to share there we SO many shells found 🤣

Such lovely findings! I just realize that the seashells on the East coast of Florida are quite different from the ones on the Gulf side. Thank you for sharing your findings and knowledge of seashells.
@FloridaBeachWalks
@FloridaBeachWalks Месяц назад
Thank you! Yes they are different (some being the same but some species present themselves differently) and in general there is a little more of a hunt here on the east side to find them. It’s nice mixing it up to shell on both coasts ❤️☀️🌊 Thank you so much for watching 🐚

It’s impossible for me not to smile when hearing you squeal with delight upon finding those lion’s paws. You are blessed to have something so simple that brings you such genuine joy. And I thank you for sharing and spreading that joy. I’ve been shelling a while but I still learn something from each of your videos

Aww thank you! I have to admit when editing I have to bring the volume of the squeals down 🤣 🙃 Such fun and the voiceovers I get to live it twice ❤️ I really appreciate you taking the time to comment! Thx for watching and I’m learning too in this process-so much, and from viewers like you 🤩

Awwww hello there in Michigan!!! 👍🏼👍🏼 Glad you are enjoying the channel beach walks and appreciate the verses at the end! God is good 🙌🏽 Thank you for your comment! Yes, the east coast is underestimated but it is a little bit trickier here to find shells 🐚 Wishing you all the best and enjoy the warmth before winter hits your area hard. Blessings! 🦈🌊☀️🐚

So Great, going there tomorrow
@FloridaBeachWalks
@FloridaBeachWalks Месяц назад
Ahhhh so excited for you!! I hope you have a great time and get the chance to go at low tide. It’s the full moon (mostly) now, but this time in the season for the east coat the new moons (dark like there is no moon outside) are pulling the lowest tides at the moment not the full moon. But it’ll still be a slight negative low tide tomorrow there at ~6pm so some of the rocks will be showing at the north end of the park around low tide time 🐚👍🏼

I love watching your videos! Tell me about the olives! Are lettered olives the same as you were talking about? I also loved your lion paws!
@FloridaBeachWalks

They are separate species from my understanding. They are both part of the family Olividae and the genus Oliva but a distinct species in that genus: Fulgurators Olives are: Oliva “fulgurator” Lettered Olives are: Oliva “sayana” Hope that helps! Hope you have a great week ☀️

Great finds, Roxanne! I’m headed your way next week. Were you at MacArthur recently? Did you go to the right or left when you got down to the beach? Was it low tide? Love the Bible verse at the end.

Oh awesome! Next week it’ll be getting closer to the new moon where the tides will be slightly out more than this week but not the lowest. Yes, I was just there this weekend recording a few intro shots (and shelling) there are a few piles at the north end currently. The intro shot (not the content) of this video was taken 5-25-24 there. The rocks are at the far north end (take a left when you get on beach) but most have been covered b/c of the sand renourishment deposits since this video (you can see a mountain of sand in front of the condos right outside the park currently🤦🏽‍♀️) but at very low negative tides in the winter months, you can see quite a few rocks but not as many as before. Happy Shelling 🐚❤️ yes, God’s word is so precious for the state the world is in and I’ll share where I can 🙏🏼

Is there a reason why you don't collect the oysters that look like leaf's. I have a thing for the oysters that are cool looking. Like the thorny, leaf looking ones and a few other's. I'm a big fan of the rock shells,, and drupe shells as well. I even like some of the nerites. I Really enjoy your videos. Thank you for sharing

I really enjoy looking at shells 🐚 at the beach even the ones I don’t take and I do collect a few frond oysters (leafy like) 👍🏼 I just took photos of my “favorites” from this walk (not all the shells I collected). I enjoy nerite shells too; especially the checkered ones 😍 Thank you so much for watching & your comment ❤️

8:16 the species is Oliva bifasciata, not fulgurator
@FloridaBeachWalks

Oliva "bifasciata" is one of the 7 different forms of "fulgurators." In this chart link you can see where "bifaciata" is a "form." Oliva fulgurator (Röding, 1798) form bifasciata Kuster, 1878 olram9.wixsite.com/letstalkseashells/copy-of-olivella-perplexa
