If you watch Elaine’s drive phase, she holds it for 40m before she transitions to her acceleration phase. Shelly increasing her acceleration, maybe the final piece of puzzle to perfecting her race.

As great as Shelley is and has been this year so far, I struggle to believe she’ll dip below 10.6 let alone sub 10.5. She’s consistently running sub 10.7 now so will be great to see how much faster she goes with the likes of Elaine, Sha’Carri, and Dina in the same race as we know Shelley doesn’t get intimidated under pressure 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
I am inclined to agree that she wont go that fast to break the WR. That 10.49 should never have stood in the first place. The true WR should be wat these women are running now
Elaine hit 10.60 at the olympics followed by 10.53 last year. Until now, all of shellys sub 10.7 have been at altitude. All I see is SFP pushing Elaine to break the WR

Shelly Ann is the GOAT 🐐 in 100m among both males and females. Her longevity, consistency and improvement at this age is unmatched. While other athletes both males and females are declining at her age, she is even more dangerous than ever. I really love her.
USAIN WR and 100m dominance makes him the best ever in either event. No one beat Bolts time in his time. ETH also has the faster times than Shelly in both 100m and 200m in Shelly`s time. Shelly has great consistency and longevity, lets see if ETH can dominate another 4 years and end the GOAT argument, otherwise it will be always debatable.

Winning only olympic gold medals is massive but not sufficient to make you the GOAT. She just faded away after olympics which is not consistent enough. Bolt for instance was dominant in all major championships and not just olympics. So Elaine is not yet in that conversation. Running fast occasionally is not as impressive as doing it on a consistent basis and that is where Bolt and Shelly get the upper hand in the GOAT discussion over Elaine. Already she is declining after her olympics exploits. She may peak again in 2024 for the next olympics

If a World Champ is beaten twice by the same person in the Olympics, then she can't be better. Maybe equal. @@ArnHaz world titles are also as important as olympic titles. Olympic games though is the biggest of all the athletic competition is not the only metric for measuring greatness. Usain Bolt 100 and 200 meter world record were not set at the olympics but at the the world championship. Tyson Gay and Asafo Powell fast times were recorded not at the olympics but at the world championship. So it's also a very significant stage. SAFP has won 5 world individual titles in the 100 meters. No athlete in history has done this before. That is very impressive. She is also the favorite to win 2021 world championship which is being in July of 2022.

Thankfully, she has both kinds of golds. But unfortunately, ETH has beaten her twice in the last two Olympics. And the last olympic win was a huge statement. ETH beat SAFP by breaking a 30 year old Olympic record at 10.61. SAFP to her credit came back immediately by beating ETH's olympic time at 10.60, but then ETH stamped her dominance again by that stupendously good time of 10.54 at Eugene. That’s just jaw-droppingly fast. It shatters anything SAFP has done in her entire career. This is a 100 meter race. The deciding factor is speed and time. ETHs best is better than SAFP's best. I have nothing against SAFP. She is an inspirational legend. ETH is not that. She has always been in the shadow. But you have to give credit where credit is due.

You guys get ready for a 100m PERFECT running. This girls has start, drive phase improved a lot, the relaxation coming out of the drive phase and enter into top end acceleration while maintaining it is awesome. I believe she has found that 30-40m remedy to hold that acceleration. Everyone was catching her up at 30 or 40m in the past, this time she has putting in the work to correct that.

Yes she decelerated faster in the last 30m or so but she would be already far away from the rest of the field such that even the big closers couldn’t catch her. I would ask you to name more than three races whereby Shelly was caught by her competitors in the last 30m.
There were those claiming her Kenyan win was a fluke because apparently it was running under high altitude but the same critics (haters) would not mention the headwind, that was. What is the excuse this time?
I think I’m seeing what Shelly did in all these 10.6’s, and folks like Christian Coleman, and all the others who fade in the final stages can learn from her. If I’m correct, she took a little bit off the start, perfectly paced the race, and she actually appeared to “turn off the jets” midway and maintained that speed, instead of running hard, rushing top speed, then dropping off hard. Before my freshman year of college, I ran tense (we ran tense back then), and I somehow told myself one day to run at 90%, and I immediately began smoking folks who were faster than myself prior to then. The extreme relaxation makes a world of difference, and I think that was her trick. Also, notice when Shericka and Elaine challenged Shelly after she first ran 10.6, Shelly tried to catch them, couldn’t, and ended up running 10.7’s, but when she gets this execution and no stress, 10.6 all damn season long!
Maybe women take better care of themselves. More rest, less partying more discipline, focus, hard work in training and being more hungry for more success.

Only one man has run like this & he is a doper ie Gatlin. There is no way a woman would have enough testosterone at 35 to out muscle those in their early to mid twenties. The level of testosterone at 35 even for men is dwindling. Shelly-Ann is a doper without a doubt.
