Fans need to remember Elaine Thompson and SFP are not as young anymore ,they are almost past prime and it is time for the younger sprinters to step up and carry on the tradition. Elaine may be younger but her age is still problematic for an elite sprinter as the human body starts to show wear and tear at such an age.Most elite athletes start to see a slowing down at 30 anyway and can no longer find consistency without getting injured. Both Thompson and SFP have represented us extremely well in the past and there is nothing more to be won that they have both not already accomplished. Their bodies just cannot be pushed anymore,it happens to all athletes eventually.
Elaine is 31. Shelly-ann is 37 which is closer to 40 than 30. Their bodies are in two different life stages. Don't think we should put them in the same boat
Very good practice run Shelly, keep healthy same way, very good job. I liked how she preserved her strength in this race & practically jogged to the end. Great run to all the ladies who participated.
What you all think ,she has iron feet ,12 years this lady is running almost over the world to make money ,track is her job ,her muscles have to be tired ,i am sure all who is talking never run ,most likely at champs ,if so far
11.1 is actually good that's closet to 10.9s if you are close to 10.9 as a opener you are good, if she ran 11.5 then we could say out of shape,I've seen Shelly run 11.3 before winning an Olympic title so
You people don't know anything about track and field if you think our ladies are not doing well track and field is about peaking at the right time if they were running fast time now that when I would be worry
She could have run a little faster if she wanted. I believe she is in 10.95 - 11.05 shape. She still has two weeks to go and Im expecting her to be in son 10.90- 10.95 shape at trials. Will it be enough to qualify? I think so unless one of the jamaicans young girl pull an stunt on them.

11.1 is "ok", in her 10.6's season she opened 10.67 seconds... 10.67 seconds.... Which means she prepared herself to do that and was able to open like that. "Normal" folks do open slower like 11.0 and the time drops over the weeks, but i don't think Shelly "wanted" to open 11.1 seconds....
