I have 3 of these, updated firmwares and newer version of the app seem to work fine now. Had them on for about 3 months now gathering data and no problems really. Sure they are slow to send out the data when battery powered so not good if you want realtime data. I'm thinking about DIYing a usb/regulator to power them on constantly in some locations, the USB cap probably just has a regulator and some contacts to push on the battery terminals. I'm surprised they soldered that header on which does not seem to do anything?

the govee wifi sensors uses either AAA or AA and lasts for a really long time on low interval refreshes.

i've heard more bad than good on shelly but, really not much either way good or bad as they are not super popular but , mostly people say they have issues with pairing or disconnecting.

I haven't tried the mains powered devices, those must be fine since they don't have a sleep problem like this one. Believe me i tried so many times to make it work properly i don't think it's usable in a smart home system. It simply cannot work with the efficiency of low power sensors like zigbee or zwave.

@@leosedf it's the device not the wireless protocol i have the Govee wifi temp sensor and man do those batteries last. more than 3 months on 15 to 30 minute refresh/update interval. no home assistant support though, unless you have bluetooth. z wave and zigbee is getting be a pain in the ass as you can't find any wifi devices. Also low wan/LPwan and lora wan are far suprerior to z wav or zigbee they havea range of mile(s) through metal, concrete and earth. one guy set up his lorawan on his bench and whent to the grocery store to test the range and it worked.

UK people are always funny to listen to. For example, this guy doesn't even know what Italian looks like.

@@Lossengwath Ok, let me be clear, if you don't hear my accent it means YOU have to travel more, i am not British and i will never be and i am actually Greek, una fazza una razza. I think i know Italians more than you and i have probably travelled more than even you anyway LOL. Nice try being smart.

@@leosedf Oh, so what language is the label written in again? lol. Own it up and move forward. Hitting your chest like a gorilla isn't impressing anyone.
