Thank you, sir! Can you tell me the etymology/terminology/whatever about calling the end you're working with the "bitter end"? Does that come from some sort of sailor slang or, like, is it a technical term in relation to ropes and tying knots? I knew what you meant by 'bitter end' thanks to your excellent demonstration, but I'm flummoxed trying to make the vocabularical connection. Thanks again!
