Notice how Moe was walking towards Shemp and Shemp was backing away while still trying to look tough. It's clear he's all bark and no bite.

Solomonxxx - Yes, Shemp's reflexes and fancy footwork were no accident. My understanding is that Shemp, among other things, actually was a boxer prior to joining the Three Stooges Shorts.

Epxxxx - My favorite was when Shemp takes a swig of a presumably alcoholic Drink (now that i think of it, it might have been milk😅), and goes into histrionics, gasping, stamping his foot, and choking out a long, raspy "SmmmoooOOOOooothhhh!!!. I was hoping to see this clip here, but, alas, I am still thankful for this hysterical compilation😂

Ep - Oh, and another, the Stooges are stuck on a ship and Shemp gets seasick after chomping on a whole bologna, throws the leftover bologna into a water bucket hanging over Moe's head, splashing Moe. Moe looks up at Shemp while Shemp is holding his mouth like he had just vomited, Moe makes one of his angry faces, stands up and slaps Shemp, asking Shemp why he spilled water on him😂. And in that same short, when Shemp was smoking, swinging on a hammock, just before Shemp falls asleep, Shemp makes a nonsensical, nnnaaa-naaaa sound and tosses a lit cigarette into a 55 gallon drum full of paper😂😂😂. Note, Shemp passed away during the filming of this short, and later in the short, in order to explain why Shemp "disappeared", Larry asks where Shemp was, and I think Moe said Shemp was sleeping in a cabin... Also did you know that Shemp got that nickname because his mother could not pronounce "Sam" without "Sh"?

They were good friends off screen too.

@@basilmarasco1975 Vernon Dent was such good friends with Shemp that he attended the latter's funeral in 1955. At that time Dent was blind from diabetes and had to be led to Shemp's casket. He then felt Shemp's hands and face as his way of saying goodbye to Shemp.
