Wow, this place is done! The big boxes that opened up around the mall killed this place… on top of Hermitage being a town no one is moving to unless they want cheap real estate and don’t need to be very close to Pittsburgh, Erie, Cleveland or Youngstown.
Glad you did this update. We would visit this mall when we would go to Kraynaks down the street for the holiday displays. Have you been to kraynaks? It’s amazing!!!🎉
Great burrito place across from the mall near the bank building… Hot Head burritos! 🎉 check it out if you’re back in town. Its like a mall burrito place, way better than Crapotle and they have multiple sauces you can put on the burritos or bowls
Breaking news: It has just been announced that JCPenney is gonna be closing soon at this mall. It's final open day will be May 5th 2024. I'm sure eventually it'll be "Goodbye Shenango Valley!" Once JCPenney is gone, I don't see how this mall can stay open for even another year. I used to love coming here until F.Y.E. left.
If I am not mistaken this is the only JCPenney in the area, Niles or Boardman do not have a Penneys? When I was here a few months ago I asked what the blocked off area in the store was all about and they said they were in the process of installing a beauty care/salon edition. When you get a chance get back on 80 into Ohio head North on 11 and turn right on 20 and do an update on the Ashtabula Mall, they lost the Pretzel shop in the food court and the AMC Theater. The Ice Cream and Hot Dog stand is still there there though but for how long? New Owner no more Kohan local guy. Thanks for the update.
Yes, JCPenney is still open at Southern Park Mall in Boardman, Ohio and at Eastwood Mall in Niles, Ohio too and they're still gong strong at those 2 malls. So therefore, Shenango Valley Mall is NOT the only one with a JCPenney.
They closed off the section from Penneys that was for a fire escape area and the rear part has fallen more into decline. Aces Aventures and Sal has done a video or 2 on it. @@AaronC143
@@SuperBuickregal I saw that. Urbex Dane did one too where they were in the back end of the mall. That place is really bad. It definitely needs to be torn down. I heard it reeks of black mold in there.
