Ha I remember this vividly! But as a kid I never realized this was a half hour Milton Bradley commercial 😉

Yes, this was a revised version of Heatter-Quigley's "VIDEO VILLAGE" (and "VIDEO VILLAGE JUNIOR EDITION") [CBS, 1960-'62]- which also featured announcer Kenny Williams as "Kenny the Cop". It was certainly intended to sell the sponsor's board games...and it did.

Before Hasbro made it big with their _Family Game Night_ over half a century later, this came close.

Basically the show was an advertisement for Milton Bradly products. This type of advertising continues to this day.

"Shenanigans" is a forgotten children's game show (1964-65) hosted by Stubby Kaye. It had the same format as another hit game show done by Heatter-Quigley, "Video Village" (1960-62). Announcer Kenny Williams is Kenny the Cop.

I remember the song but can hardly remember any of the game events. What an amazing array of prizes the kids won in that game (for the 1960s)!! That was a pretty fast moving show to get all those events and commercials into 30 minutes.

Yes, those were very good prizes. I am "little Debbie", the winner. I had just turned 11 (you can do the math, yikes!) and it was a thrill to be on the show. I actually still have one of the prizes....I pulled the tent out of my attic today, which is what made me think of the show. Crazy trip down memory lane today!

@@MrMenefrego1 Hi Jeff, it was a long time ago, but I still remember how fun it was, seeing behind the scenes, getting fitted for the adorable jumpsuit (haha), meeting Stubby Kaye and Kenny the Cop. The game /taping went quickly and was over before I realized it! The day my show aired, October 8, 1965, President Lyndon Johnson was having gall bladder surgery, so all tv shows were preempted. I had never seen the full episode until it was posted on youtube, and it brought back great memories!

I was only 4 when this show started. Didnt they go through that door and pick out toys? I just remember how the toys looked so wonderful to me. Long time ago.

Admittedly, this reminds me of Video Village, only, I am guessing, it was colorful and bright when this was new in the mid 60’s (1965?), also with more mini games, appropriate as Milton Bradly was the sponsor. I like it, but I feel bad as I have a feeling the majority of this series is lost, presumed wiped, & junked.

I guess Video Village with mini-games/pricing games sponsored by Milton Bradly (I guess a 1960’s Family Game Night)?

This kids TV game show was originally conceived as a local program on WPIX TV Ch.11 in NYC in the early 1950's..Bob Quigley(then an unknown tv comedy performer and writer)was the program's host/performer.

Curious….was the Quigley show aimed at kids, or adults? And what was the name of it? Video Village? Shenanigans? Something else?

The 1950's version of the show..which was seen on WPIX TV Ch.11 in NYC was also called"Shenanigans!"..but? it was set against the backdrop of a private investigations agency and Mr.Quigley..(Then an unknown tv comedy performer and scriptwriter)mc'd the program as a bumbling private detective..who asks the young members of his studio audience and his young viewers..to help him solve the crimes cases..by solving baffling puzzles and riddles in the least amount of time to earn points and win prizes. Both versions of "Shenanigans"were made for kids audiences..Chris.

The first version of"Video Village"hosted by Jack Narz and later by Monty Hall was aimed at adults and seen weekday mornings on The CBS TV Network..in the early 1960's..there was later a saturday morning version of the series'Video Village,Junior"(Although some sources say it was titled"Kideo Village"?)was aimed at kids..hosted by Mr.Monty Hall and aired during the 1961/62 tv season on CBS.

Games like Time Bomb! Can't do this today. Also, it appears Monopoly used to be called Easy Money. At 22:18 Allan Sherman does a commercial for Camp Granada the game! Games like POW! the war game for boys and WOW! the pillow fight game for girls.
