A short film captured from super 8mm film showing a drivers POV of a drive from Burses's way in Shenfield Essex, to the local shops, and Shenfield Green. I guess this film dates to the middle 1970s. I hate to scare you...but this is nearly 50 years ago!

Remember it in the 1960’s, changed little, the 252 Eastern National buses turned where the taxi rank is by the station, a new station building sits there now, spent 27 years visiting that place, been gone now for 40 years, always nice to this vintage footage - thanks for posting.

I used to get that bus from Wilsons Corner with my parents home to Hutton on a Saturday after the weekly shop

At that time it would have been the 252 from Shenfield Rail Station to Woodman Road via the East Ham Crescent, at the time, lived in Pondfield Lane, the other route was the 262 from Hornbeam Close to Bishops Hall Estate which took the same route from the Close, and split at Wilsons Corner, think those Lodekkas were withdrawn in 1981, when the route went OMO with Bristol RE’s and VR classes.

@@jacksugden8190 Where about's was/is the doctors surgery on Hutton road? Does the car go past it in the 1970's footage could you tell me please, and did you ever go there back in the 70's?

I've only ever passed through shenfield but it seems to have changed relatively little

Shenfield railway station hasn't changed much except it now has 6 platforms and platforms 5 & 6 are now used by Elizabeth Line (Crossrail) and platforms 1-4 used by National Rail (Greater Anglia).
