you know you are playing an epic game when they write more than 2 hours of the most beautiful music for just 2 hours of gameplay (disc 4) shenmue is so unique
This part of the game was a cinematic masterpiece even to this day. Just played through it a couple days ago The amount of detail put in to this really makes Shenmue 3 even more disappointing
This part of the game inspire me to travel alone after my military service. I am now in south asia travelling with my backpack ^^ this game was made with love
Thank you for this. Even though I have all the tracks already it's wonderful to listen to them in the correct order and looking at pics from the game. I listened to this music when I was hiking along Yangshuo, southeast of Guilin, this summer. The environments are stunning. Can't wait to see what Yu Suzuki does with the Chinese countryside in Shenmue III.
The whole soundtrack is incredible! And I think among all those amazing pieces Shenmue has throughout, two of my favourites are: 23. Forest: Guilin In-game 2 and 29. Shenmue Tree (Second).
My favourite part of Shenmue II. Beautiful landscapes accompanied with the best music in the game.Hope some day i can visit this magical place in China.
This is such an odd chapter of the game. The part itself can be tedious especially on multiple play through but has the best music making you want to keep playing.
They really should have just saved the Guilin trip for Shenmue 3 tbh, it really felt like it farted out at the end trying to squeeze this in. Probably could have expanded the game if the Guilin section wasn't in the game at all. I mean It was ok, but for a game that's infamous for being menial and tedious this was actually the only part that stuck out in my mind as boring.
For me, the first parts were action packed with fighting and qtes. It was a nice break after the whole yellow head building sequence. I loved the dynamic. Shenmue iii was a mess though. Worst game I’ve ever played, and that’s a hard pill to swallow because I love Shenmue 1 and 2
@@user-ht4kp7py2c I'd personally rather have left on the high note of the Dou Niu fight and the Phoenix Mirror explanation as the ending, but ngl the final part with the sword n' shit was badass. Almost made the 2 hour hike worth it! But yeah RIP Shenmue, Yu came back to kill it and make Shenmue 1-2 into an anime. *But if you ask me the story was better suited for an anime more than a video game but that could just be how shitty a game designer Yu Sazuki is.*
Garrett Oliva that’s a really fair point and perspective. I personally like the exploration aspect of 1&2, plus the mix of Chinese and Japanese elements. It was my motivation to learn Japanese, which I now use in my career, when I was in high school. I actually looked up to Ryo. But you’re right, Yu completely messed up the series. It’s amazing how games from over 20 years ago are better than what they barged out in 2019.
