She’s my favorite for sure, and this card is arguably the strongest at 4cmc

How so?

Maybe it’s a Mischaracterization saying unfun, but I have been in a few games where my opponent laid down one combo piece early/mid game, and later I won the game. Turns out, they had the other piece in their hand that they could have played and win at any time. This leads to a feeling of an empty win on my part, and having spent several turns to grind out that win was all for nothing because my opponent just let me win. This also sometimes comes with some cockiness followed up by a statement from them like,” I had the other piece in my hand the whole time and could have won at any time.” Essentially delegitimizing your win and buffering their loss! Even if you don’t say anything, if I see that you’ve had the wincon in your hand for several turns and declined to play it, it’s really not much different. On the flip side, there are few players that want to sit down for a slow, tedious, drawn-out life drain game that goes for 4 hours. This can definitely occur if you play this deck against a life-gain deck! So putting everyone out of their long drawn-out misery with a combo win is not a feel bad thing imo. I know you said that you don’t play to win, you play for fun, but people who say that are lying to others and lying to themselves. You DO play to win like everyone else, is just that winning for you means something other than gaining the V for simply knocking your opponents out. It’s getting your engine online, or playing that critical piece or bomb, or whatever. Or, having that other combo piece in your hand the whole game and knowing that you could have won at any time if you wanted to could be a win in the back of your mind! No disrespect and not trying to be malicious, it’s just different strokes for different folks.😀 this is why I didn’t outline what I meant in my original comment because I knew it’d be a long explanation. Nice video, though. My Sheoldred deck is very very similar. May I suggest adding Saw in Half. There’s nothing like dropping Gary and then sawing him in half! Lmao

⁠@@SouthernSorcerymaybe I should have asked you in what kind of game state would you NOT play both combo pieces? This would be a very interesting subject to gain the player base opinions on!

I personally am just not a big fan of combo wins, especially not 2 cards combos. They feel empty to me. Like ok no one had an answer in hand I win. However both cards have high synergy with sheoldred. I’m never going to hold the table hostage, like I can cast this whenever…. But if I cast the first piece and it were removed, I’d probably cast the second after. I am not trying to win most of the time, I just want to socialize, see what my opponents decks are built to do, and then hopefully someone has that big splashy turn or spell that pushes them just far enough ahead to win. Though that is probably not most people’s objective I realize. Fun is the first goal for me. Winning comes after fun and social aspects.
