SHERIKA JACKSON is my favorite for many reasons. Not only does she have the speed potential to take-down Flo-Jo's record, but she's pleasant, humble, balanced, and not given to bragging! To me, that's a REAL WINNER, and a beautiful representation of the Jamaican culture.

The WR will go, maybe not this season but definitely next season. Shericka is becoming so consistently fast, sub 22 seconds almost looks like a training run, sub 21.8 is just another day at the office. It's the second hundred that wins you the race. Most people start slowing down, but Sherika and Flo Jo increases speed. She can't break that record, because she can't run the first 100 any faster and she doesn't even come close to Flo Jo's second half of the 200. She doesn't have the form and the stride that Flo Jo had to run that second half of that race like Flo Jo.

SJ in lane 5 or 6 with maybe Sha'Carri or SAFP one lane outside of her doing a fast first 100, & a tailwind on a fast track, if enough things line up the WR is hers. Her last 50m is slower than Flojo's though, she'd need to keep running smooth through the line.

It doesn't take away from Flo-Jo's talent & form to also question whether she took PEDs. The fact that her records in the 100m & 200m, as well as Marita Koch's in the 400m and Jarmila Kratochvilava's in the 800m still stand while the men's records in all those distances have been chipped away, hundredth of a second by hundredth, over the same 35-40 years is proof enough. It does a huge disservice to the current crop of female runners that World Athletics doesn't disregard all records set before WADA was established in 1999... no doubt under similar conditions, Elaine Thompson-Herah, Shericka Jackson, Shelly-Ann Fraser Price, Marileidy Paulino, Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, Athing Mo, Keely Hodgkinson & Co. would all have a legitimate chance to set a "real" record.
@barath4545
@barath4545 Год назад
They are all still using, just way less doses now and microdosing combinations you won't find on random drug tests unless a mix or cycles goes wrong. This is why you mostly see smaller nation athletes get caught now, the big ones have doc teams to perfect the timing and what cycles who is on when. Its potato potato, leave the old standing, they had poor shoes, poor clothes for aero, bad track surfaces and poor nutrition and the horse doses still made win, so yeah eh.
@robws007
@robws007 Год назад
Interesting theory... how can "microdosing" be detected? If it can't be detected, then how do you know it's actually happening? No doubt the true cheaters are one step ahead of WADA, but this implies that they are ALL cheating, which I have a hard time believing... @@barath4545

As soon as she said she was going for the record, that’s when I knew she wasn’t gonna break it. Don’t get me wrong, she WILL break Flo Jo’s record, but when an athlete breaks a world record, they’re often not thinking about it, it just happens. When you got the record on your mind, it causes you to overthink and tense up, hence why she ran a slower time than her Worlds performance. She’ll get it soon, she has the speed and power for it, she just needs to not think about it and run her race.

I stand corrected. God of heaven bless us to see all three cross the line in a lean with the rest of the field. You want drama? You got it in track and field. And remerber when we cannot hit the track it is because we are Dead. Go run. Fast or slow but run and if you are Mexicano do not get in that taxi. Run the whole race. That is the test not the time!

And just like bolt, Flojo started slowing down a few meters before the line when she set the record. In baseball I was coached hard to “ run through the bag no matter what “. So watching these runners slow down because their leads were so big sucks. Because they could have made their record even more unbreakable!!

Bolt ran his hardest 200m races when he set the olympic record and the world record. He ran right through the tape on both occasions. He didnt purposely slow dowm. There was no way his body could maintain that same speed throughout the entire 200m.

It’s the shoes. Give FloJo Jackson’s shoes and she would have run 20.84. It’s no coincidence the last 5-10 years everybody is getting closer. They are doing everything they can with technology to break those records. It’s a measure of how great she was that they look like trucks compared to her and they still haven’t done it.

SHERICKA JACKSON would need to have a very short break in order to help her achieve this Records. My personal experience that's even closer to Flo-jo's experience can testify to this..... This was my race when I was in the University (200m). When I was thinking I was at my top speed at my 100 level, I was pushing too hard to meet up with the records. The more harder I ran, the more slower and weary I became. But when I relaxed for the rest of the years, my trained muscles adjusted to their top shape while not performing any hard workouts. But the time I later participated in the trials in preparation for the National University Games (NUGA), I ran my personal Best time ever (20:88) far more than the then Records. Meanwhile the same short break Flo-jo had for few years while taking up an office job later helped her shoot up to her top form when she consequently resumed to Athletics to retrain her formerly active muscles. And that was exactly the TIME she broke all these RECORDS!!! It pained me because I couldn't participate in the Games Championship because I was later cleared for my academic courses I thought will hold me down to have an extra year studying.... I WOULD HAVE BROKEN THE THEN UNIVERSITY RECORDS!!!

This puts into perspective how insane Bolt is. His 19.19 is into a slight headwind of -0.3 & people hoping to beat it need to pray for a 1.5~2.0 m/s tailwind to even stand a chance. If that race had had a 1.3 m/s wind like the women's WR, I think we're talking 19.09~19.14 for Bolt.

@richardgallimore5976
@richardgallimore5976 Год назад
Both records are crazy, but I think Bolt's may be harder to beat. It's especially crazy that Bolt's record is into a slight headwind. Even if Lyles or someone beats it one day I still don't think they'd have the GOAT status. Bolt would be under 19.10 if he had had a solid tailwind. Shericka is closer to Flojo's level than Lyles is to Bolt's. Flojo'd best 100m not counting the likely wind aided 10.49 his her 10.61. So she's at 10.61/21.34 vs SJs 10.65/21.41. Bolt's 9.58/19.19 (again into a headwind), puts him quite a ways ahead of Lyles 9.83/19.31. Lyles would probably need to get in the low 9.7s & a large tailwind to approach 19.19, while if he ran it into the same headwind as Bolt he'd need to be close to Tyson Gays/Yohan Blake's 9.69 speed to have a chance at under 19.19.
