Thirty some years ago, I used to deliver pizza to John Mina and his wife on a fairly regular basis. He was with OPD then. They were some of the nicest people on my delivery route. So happy he is our sheriff.
Yes, the first step of the hiring process is to do this physical fitness test. If you pass then you move on to the next step and get your background packet. If you fail then you can sign up to try again in 2 weeks (or longer if you choose), you're not removed from the process
I attended Valencia at the age of 59. I graduated and received a 93 on my state exam. During my time, several instructors made derogatory remarks regarding my age like, "shouldn't you be retired" or "this is a young man's game you know". Thirty applications later including OCSO, I was not considered eligible for employment by any of them. The jackass who made the "shouldn't you be retired" remark, is the son of my recruiter who rejected me due to my "criminal record". I have no criminal record, he is a liar. My only crime is being much older than my 28 classmates. Just imagine for a moment telling a black recruit "this is a white man's game you know". All of my classmates were hired to the best of my knowledge. Florida Law Enforcement discriminates based on age and not the ability to perform the duties of a law enforcement officer.
Lots of Disney employees live in Polk County, its the next county to the southwest of Disney. if the crime happens in Polk then the Polk county sheriffs office is responsible, not sure why thats confusing?
@@XconnorX11 Yeah, nice try. I guess the Disney workers living in Orange County don’t commit any crimes then. No, we have a pathetic, anti-gun, hug-a-thug, Soros-funded Democrat sheriff like Mina vs a real tough-on-crime constitutionalist sheriff like Grady Judd.
