Another property transformed! Had so much fun on this one. Could have spent the entire day there as the driveway was in ROUGH shape. I'll probably go back and see what more I can do - but definitely got it to a better place.

Just wanted to update everyone on this house. As of June/ July 2024 this house is currently being renovated. It looks really good so far. The railings have been replaced new cement driveway has been installed among other improvements.

People like to think "What's the point?" when it comes to doing public services for free. "It's just going to grow back." But listen to how grateful that sheriff sounded. It improved his day. He'll tell the owner of the property and they'll tell others. Everyone will be in a better mood and it might inspire them to do something similar. Everyone's life is made better by one simple act of kindness.

plus if a property looks taken care of, its less likely to be broken into or less likely to be used as a dumping ground, I' ve noticed if there is trash dumped and it stays, people tend to think its ok to dump more there

When the yard is restored, it makes it easier for a neighbor to keep the upkeep, hopefully. Maybe the owner will be inclined to hire someone to keep it mowed.🤷‍♀️

My husband does this for our 90yr old next-door neighbors. I cook for them about 2x a month. We're in our mid 60s. It doesn't matter how old you are. You do what you can to make the world a little better place than it was. Every little bit helps.❤

Glad to hear Oakland County didn't hassle you. I'm former law enforcement (Washtenaw County Sheriff) and initially thought to myself "what, they don't have any bad guys to catch?". Glad he wanted your you tube info. I used to live in Oakland County, now I live in Wayne County. Great job! That home actually looks like it's pretty stable, like it used to get a lot of love. Years ago, when we were shopping for our first house, we saw a listing for a cute house with a big yard for a good price in a very nice neighborhood and asked our real estate agent to see it. When we got there, we had to wade through waist-high grass, and burdocks to get to the front door. I'm sure that was a big part of the reason other people had passed it by before we were able to look past the weeds and see the potential.

Grass clippings in the grass is good for the grass. It doesn’t look aesthetically pleasing but the clippings provide free mulch for the grass.

Me too. So many of these lawn videos just leave clumps of grass on the lawn and mow over, leaving a dirty look. I know the dirt eventually goes into the grass but your time and skill leave a cleaner finish. Great job for the neighborhood plus leaves this sweet home happy again.

I just found your channel in my feed. I will subscribe. I love how so many people are now out helping neighborhoods and families. I wish somebody like that was in my neighborhood. I had two boys come to clean my yard up and as hard as it was I was going to pay them. They worked about 30 minutes said that would be back the next day and I've never seen them since. I've always had such a beautiful yard it's terrible when you get old and you cannot do the work anymore

What a service fir your community. So often houses such as this ends up being flop houses for drugs. When the yard is kept up people aren’t so likely to use property like this for that purpose because they think people are more likely to notice.
