Made this one a long time ago. Not sure why I didn't upload it earlier... Tracks used: 0:00 "Irene's Theme" 0:31 "SHERlocked" 3:18 "The Woman" 5:41 "SHERlocked"
Secretly Sherlock was Eurus, and John, Irene, and everyone else are just fragments of himself... He lives as Sherlock, his cute, violin-playing brother, and only now is Sherlock realising that all of his friends, his enemies, the dog he passed on the street, etc are all him. (New theory- just kidding :3)
+Head Over Heels She's usually attracted to women. She stated that in a contradiction to Watson denying that he was gay: "Well, I am. And look at us both."
Irene is gay, that's canon, but I also believe that she knew sexuality isn't black and white; it's fluid. I'm pretty sure Sherlock is also gay and that both of them were attracted to each other's intellect more than any other thing. Irene's a very sexual character, though, so her attraction might as well been somewhat sexual -- I'm pretty sure she wouldn't mind dining with Sherlock ;). Or not, since she was "playing the game." In the end though they both respected and admired each other for and foremost. The way I see it Sherlock kept her phone as a token of the formidable foe she was and calling Adler by her professional title (The Woman) at the end of the episode was a sign of respect. But that's my take on it :)
ugh my brain cant figure out the difference between real and fictional characters soo its a lil complicated and when i remember its always giving me the worst feelings...
What is upsetting about the part where he says he took her pulse? It is the logical thing, and one which I may very well have done myself if I had a girlfriend and I ended up with the oppurtunity.
You exactly know what i say. The finale was beautiful and close all the circles. irene is great but not escential and how this all finish gives a satisfaction and is not ruined. I really don't want another season.
Why? Because you're the great Sherlock Holmes, the clever detective in the funny hat? No... Because I took your pulse... elevated... your pupils dilated...
Remember when Sherlock asked John what someone's last words would be right before they died? Irene's would have been "Goodbye, Mr. Holmes." THINK ABOUT THAT.
Irene: Good-bye Mr. Holmes. Moriarty: Only while I'm alive can your friends live... Well, good luck with that. Sherlock: Good-bye, John. John: Excuse you. Sherlock [to Mary]: Take care of John. Mycroft: LAZARUS IS GO. [He was a rubbish big brother -SH]
Jasmine Pomrenke I love how everytime John is close to dying it’s because he says a sly remark (ex: “excuse you”, “I’M SHERLOCK HOLMES AND I WORK ALONE”)
"He’s writing sad music. He doesn’t eat. Barely talks, only to correct the television. I’d say he’s heartbroken, but he’s Sherlock. He does all that anyway "
It's just that you've linked the song to the final of the épisode (It's used a lot in movies : you Make the viewer link the Theme to an happy moment and you later Play it to a sad moment. The audience is going to feel confused and the sad feeling Will be more prounounce (i'm not sure if it would be possible to Do the oposit))... ... ... And the fact that it's lit 👌🔥💯
This series was mindblowing, just like the movies (RDJ) and the books. I was so sad when mycroft told that irene adler was executed. But when i saw the scene, i was like "Oh my god, sherlock saved her!" after that i couldn't stop smiling
I love the drums in the back. They sound exactly like steady heartbeats, especially poignant when he tells Irene he took her pulse.. I imagine that, wherever she is, her heart still beats strong as ever for him
The violin at the beginning sounds like pure grieving paired with tenderness - a bittersweet sound. Perfect for Sherlock and Irene, because their whole story is really bittersweet.
I'm actually rather glad Irene Adler never returned for another episode -- and I'm not saying that just to be contrary. Had she done so, it would have been anti-climatic, simply elaborating on the feelings that had already been unquestionably established in the final scene of "A Scandal in Belgravia." There is a point in any story line where an emotional climax is reached which is so defining and so intense that it can't be topped without going "over the top," as it were. So much "story" was conveyed in the scene where Sherlock rescues Adler, and then in his remark, "The woman... The woman" that there's no need for further on-screen "development" of their relationship. The fact that Sherlock ignored his own advice ("Love is a dangerous disadvantage"; "This is your heart and you should never let it rule your head"; "Sentiment is a chemical defect found on the losing side.") and risked his life to save hers is a definitive statement of the degree of respect he felt for her, as well as having formed an emotional attachment. The expression on Adler's face when she realized her "executioner" was actually Holmes spoke volumes -- she understood that he had come to feel the same attraction to her that she felt for him. And finally, Holmes remark, "The woman... THE woman," exactly the salute that Mycroft suggested it might be, was the final summation that Irene Adler was everything Sherlock Holmes could ever desire -- or hope for -- in a woman. There really isn't any place to go, in terms of story-telling, after that.
Princess of Fireflies why would they even show that message? It was obviously for Irene, since texting has been their 'thing'. They don't show such scenes for random things like texting Lestrade
Nah, it’s probably Lestrade and/or it was a callback to episode one since that was one of the first text messages that he sent to Lestrade and others before Sherlock himself was introduced in the screen.
I'd say that Irene Adler was more into Sherlock than he was into her. While Sherlock was taking her pulse, she was probably experiencing a free emotional moment. Sherlock was in control. At the end, his logic won.
Artuch maybe you're right.. but i think that Sherlock, in his own way, has feelings for her. C'mon.. then why in episode 3.02 he says to her: "get out of my head"? She's messed up his head since their first met. yeah, he was in control as always.. but deep deep down there is something, i can feel it!!
I hear this song 30 times a day.. Since weeks. while riding bike, a walk in the park, while sleeping, lying in my bed, on the couch, everywhere... Thanks for this awesome mix. With headphones its mind blowing. 6:31 minutes of goosebumps. If I could, I would hug you.
The ending of this episode was probably one of my favorite scenes of all time. The music kicks in, the scene progresses, then you hear the ringtone and you go from sad to happy. Brilliant. "The women...the women" Such an awesome rendition of a character who was only in one story of the original sherlock's. Have a great night everyone :)
Okay but after S4, what's everyone's thoughts on Sherlock and Irene? Episode 1, John encouraged Sherlock to text Irene back after ignoring her texts for the past few years. Episode 2, can't remember if she was mentioned. Episode 3, Sherlock was given a violin from Eurros and told to play 'him'. He procceeded to play Irene's theme. At the end of the episode, Sherlock was seen texting someone with the words 'You know where to find me.' It might have been Lestrade that he texted but I have a feeling it's Irene as John adviced him in the first episode to just act on his feelings and reply to her. It's probably just me being delusional but I'm kind of hoping Sherlock has feelings towards Irene? Idk it just makes sense and it would be a very fun thing to watch,
jaymee isabel well he said 'Even I text. The Woman.... ' so five years later he still texts her and he also kept the ring tone. And remember the sign of three? She was in his mind, naked ... and his words' god knows where she is'.... implying that he misses her.And like you've mentioned. When Eurus told him to play him,he played Irenes theme :) they definitely feel something for each other
E: Look at me and play....Not Bach, you don't understand! Play you. S: Me? E: Yes, you He started playing this and the fangirl in me screamed aloud! Thanks Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss for messing with our heads and feelings this season : adlock, sherlolly and finally jonlock
If I wouldn’t ship so much Johnlock I would definitely ship Adlock. This couple has definitely something and both sides are in some way interested to each other.
@@AmarEcd1233 Well no. Everybody has his own opinion and I know enough people who ship Johnlock. No one said you had to like it but please don't make comments like that. I also accept it when people are shipping other people with other than I’m doing.
A very short, simple, yet deep scene. The best scene I've seen in a long time. It's so full of passion, lust, desire and masked infatuation. It's brilliant. SH and Irene could have been a complex couple with a complicated yet passionate, lustful and mysterious relationship. Perfect soulmates. I love, love, love this scene. BC is so sensual and seductive as SH particularly in this scene. I fell in love with him. And the music, makes the scene melancholic, you wish for more. Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant. My fav scene other than SH kissing Molly scene.
best episode of all sherlock seasons yet... s2e1 best lines BECAUSE I TOOK YOUR PULSE says sherlock IF THIS WOULD BE THE END OF WORLD... WILL YOU HAVE DINNER WITH ME says irene adler... and all her texts... each1 of them...
I remember watching this episode in 2013, I had just moved back from the out-of-state 8-month adventure that was not my liking and I gone through a lot. I was watching different TV shows trying to basically numb or perhaps relax with a lie. I burnt through the first season and enjoyed it as one could but I remember this episode absolutely changing the way I looked at people it is 2022 I am 33 years old currently I own and operate a highly successful cyber security business I travel I get paid to move I'm happy for now but once in awhile every few years I come back to this audio just a song it makes me remember what I had and what I didn't and because of that I'm thankful for who I am it may sound strange because of a TV show but that's what good writing does. If you are like me or wish to have what I am now I believe in you trust me I once slept in a fucking dog house with no money no idea of who I was but knew that I could be great things was told by everyone that I would accomplish my goals because I was so smart but never was able to achieve them and already have 5 years past now my Summer's just spent in Greece Winters wherever I want
"I took your pulse;it elevated.Your pupils dilated.I imagine John Watson thinks love is a mystery to me,but the chemistry is incredibly simple & very destructive. When we first met,you told me that disguise is always a self-portrait. How true of you,the combination to your safe your measurements, but this...this is far more intimate. This is your heart,& you should never let it rule your head.I've always assumed that love is a dangerous disadvantage.Thank you for the final proof." I AM SHER LOCKED.
He took up his violin from the corner, and as I stretched myself out he began to play some low, dreamy, melodious air-his own, no doubt, for he had a remarkable gift for improvisation. I have a vague remembrance of his gaunt limbs, his earnest face and the rise and fall of his bow. Then I seemed to be floated peacefully away upon a soft sea of sound until I found myself in dreamland, with the sweet face of Mary Morstan looking down upon me. -Dr.John H.Watson, The Sign of the Four(chapter 8). Ps. As soon as I read this I hurriedly get my cellphone just to play Irene Adler’s theme while reading this part of the book.
i don't care about all these JohnLock shippers, Irene and Sherlock are forever my OTP and nothing can change my mind. i mean, c'mon, she is the ONLY actualy person Sherlock has ever actually liked!!!
John is a true friend to him, simple, understanding and always 1 step distance in any situation, in life or death, he is missing part of his soul. Sherlock would give his life for him too, if John needed ever that, but i wouldn't imagine such situation, as he felt the same for Sherlock and wouldn't ever expect it or ask for it. no shipping here... and Irene, the only woman that melted the granite heart of introverted bored genius, if she doesn't deserve respect and love, i don't know who do deserve at all...
Honestly ASIB was such a beautifully made episode. I got goosebumps towards the end in the scene where Sherlock figures out the password to Irene's phone, and "SHERlocked" begins playing.
@@dianamarcekova9615 I actully bought a violin maybe a month after that comment, and I am now on a slow prowl to learn. Thank you so much for checking in, this made me feel like my life choices matter somehow
I like the overall archetypes and themes Sir Arthur Conan Doyle made, and this music captures it, at least for me. I'm a bit of a loner myself, I usually ignore women completely as a waste of time, so I sympathize with Holmes finding a woman that drives him batty as it only happens to me once in a while. (I am no where near Holmes on an intellectual level, just saying I can sympathize with his position.) There are many analogies one could make, but I always see Sherlock as Water, Watson as Rock, Moriarty as Wind, and Irene Adler as Fire. Expand upon that with Mycroft as Ice (even Moriarty calls him 'ice man') and it makes sense as to why he looks down on his brother's softness/romanticism as a weakness, in order to win you must be cold and hard, eh? But that same rigidness is what makes Holmes able to outwit his brother who thinks he is so much smarter, from time to time... Sherlock can do what Mycroft can't... Adapt. As for Irene and Sherlock you would think that Fire and Water would be repelled by each other's presence, but they are drawn to that which is so unlike themselves, and in the middle you get steam. When wind meets water it drives up a storm, whereas earth/rock can guide water to where it needs to be and the water eventually wears down the earth/rock until they are one. I don't know, just kind of musing to the music. Again, just my opinion, just felt the need to put my stupid sentiments to this music on the record, as I listen to it from time to time while doing computer work.

Tossing it into the air and catching it again, he looks at it for a couple of seconds. SHERLOCK: The Woman. (Opening the top drawer of a nearby cabinet, he puts the phone into it and is about to withdraw his hand when he pauses, then puts his fingers onto the phone again and looks at it thoughtfully.)
