Welcome to Sherman Hill. Lenny and I have been working like crazy to get a scene "completed" this year. Of course, we are nowhere near to being "done". But I thought you would like to see our efforts to date.

Thanks! Now the area from Hermosa tunnel to Laramie is mostly done. Still have some plants to put down.

Thank you Vernon! I have a few videos of our version of Curvo but I haven't filmed that area of the layout lately because it still doesn't have scenery. Can't wait to get that part done as it will be one of the coolest scenes on the layout. Do you have any videos of what you are doing? I'd like to see that.

Could you please tell me where you got the plans and material for building the Cheyenne round house. If I heard correctly I believe someone told me that it was partially built from paper. I am needing to build The same round house for my layout and am wondering where I can find this information. Thank you for your help!

the4000class My coworker Lenny Wyatt has done all the work on the round house. Unfortunately, it's not scaled to the real thing. The footprint is based on a Walthers 130' turntable and or the width of our benchwork. Ours is 5 1/2' wide, while the scale model should be 7 1/2'! struck2soon that's an overland brass. That took a bunch of work for a diesel guy to get working well.

Allen Scott Montgomery ...Ha! Know where you're coming from, I took a Westside brass UP 4-8-2 and remotored it with a Mashima can and fitted Tsunami2 and keep-alive. Lots of fiddling involved! I also have an OMI UP SA-C-2 (2-8-8-0) which I need to fit a sound decoder to. When I am brave enough!

We have one of those Bull Moose. They're one of my favorites, but our model has a problem with the drive shaft on the front set of drivers. It's been nothing but a pain.

Allen Scott Montgomery ...I had the same problem! But on both sets of drivers. I traced the problem to the universal joint slipping on the shaft, soon cured with a replacement pair from NWSL(2mm shaft if I remember?) The damn postage to the UK cost three times as much as the uj! I love the quirky look of the Bull Moose, very much a case of function over form...a real workman-like looking engine. (Got me enthused to fit that decoder now!)

I gave it a thumbs down for this reason ----- Not because I'm a PENNSY MAN But your first train is WRONG !!!! NEVER WOULD STEAM BE LEADING A TURBINE ::: The smoke from any leading steam would go into the turbines air intake :: Turbines in front of steam !!!!!! Does the GREATEST FLOP #80 ring a bell ...

If you have access, look at page 67 in Union Pacific Steam by Lloyd E. Stagner for proof that it did happen. The bottom photo shows an 800 leading a veranda over the Dale Fill, clearly under steam. I know the rules but they were made to be broken. Besides, how do you think they found out not to put anything in front of the turbine? Let alone their experiment with double heading turbines.
