AS a Milnes fan I got this video when it first came out. The opening scene is marvelously directed. Really got the cowboyish feel to it. Puccini and the director gave soooo much character to all the bit players.
This is one of the best movie productions of this made, probably. Daniels was a good Minnie. Domingo and Milnes were far from being in their primes (especially Milnes) but, considering that, were in good voice. I believe this production was directed by Mario Del Monaco's son, he really did a beautiful job.
