We're keeping with the nostalgia theme this week and taking a trip back to 1990 or so with the first "real" cassette deck I ever owned: the Sherwood CD-345R. This was an entry-level/midrange deck from Sherwood, who was known during that time for producing decent equipment at a lower price point. I received this model when I turned 13 years old, after my parents had seen my interest in music and recording developing for a number of years.
I found this one on eBay in pretty distressed condition. In this video, we'll take a look back at the time to when this was brand new, we'll give it a clean and lube, and change the belts. After a little tour, we'll record something and perhaps relive a magical time in not only my youth, but also yours.
There is an extended cut of the repair segment available for selected channel members, so if you're into that sort of thing, be sure to check that out.
