Tenshi it’s a natural response for fathers to be generally mean to their pups as they grow because it shows dominance and is sort of like a disciplinary action. Many puppies are disrespectful in the “dog world” and the father tries to teach them how to act appropriately. It’s like a dad getting mad at his young son for making a mistake, he may seem like a mean guy but in reality he is training his son to be proper.

Kyle Neckar i agree, pups need to learn to respect the older dogs. If the father really wanted to hurt the pups he easily could, but he's just learning them to respect him. That's just how that goes with canines, the father is usually the tough love parent, if he isn't prepared to raise his pups like that then the leader of the pack can decide to banish the pups for being disrespectful.

Dirty Dan no, but I know they are stubborn dogs. I have a pitbull boxer blue heeler mix who had a bad experience with a dog at a young age and when he growled at other dogs I'd pet that dog and he'd stop.

Shibas personalities are vastly differant. I grew up with german shephards and the personality and training for both are significantly differant. I feel the same could be said for pitbulls. I have trained two Shibas of mine since they where puppies to be social, and it worked well, to a degree. Yet professional shiba trainers are blown away(in a good way) by the fact they actually love people but neither shiba of particularly likes dogs despite having constant exposure to them. It's the breed, not the training.

Not really. Anyway, shibe dad is talking to puppy, and puppy needs to learn that some things mean "respect my space". Maybe we put our human filter over it and it seems like it's just a mean, bad father, but the lessonspuppies learn from their parents and litter mates are important to healthy behavioral development. This isn't abnormal or "mean". He's just talking the way a dog talks to another.
