-- PRESENTATION: SHIBUKAWA ICHI RYŪ JŪJUTSU --
The founder of that school, Shutō Kura no Shinmitsutoki, studied Shibukawa Ryū as well as Nanba Ippo Ryū. In a different place, he also learned Asayama Ichiden Ryū. From those styles, he founded Shibukawa Ichi Ryū Jūjutsu.
Since he was serving the Matsuyama clan, he became their instructor of the Shibukawa Ichi Ryū style.
This style teaches bare-handed techniques to defend oneself without weapons by training against bare-handed opponents or opponents carrying daggers. There are also staff techniques with the Tanbō (short staff), 3 Shaku Bō (91 cm), 6 Shaku Bō (180 cm), Jutte techniques, Kusarigama techniques, and Iai techniques, but all those techniques using weapons are considered part of the Asayama Ichi Ryū style.
