Probably the only time I'll have two different Shibuya sights with me. Let's take a look at these two different models and see whether the cost difference is justified.
*Edit*: Thanks for those who pointed out that the front knob is used to keep the block tightened.

The knob on dual click will push the stanless steel plate down to tighten the sight block. Thats the reason its loose in the video as previous comment said . My friends use Dual-click and I used a KAP sight before and am using Ultima right now. I have to comment that Shibuya sights are worth the price they should be. Very tough and precision made. Basically, the only draw back for Ultima is the plastic lever (to loosen the vertical adjustment) can be fragile under some circumstance. While for Dual-click you have to made one more step to loose the knob before adjustment, it still works fine. The video is still nice, thanks for sharing the comparison.

Thank you @NUSensei very much for this video. I looked for a new sight at my local store and found the Dual Click Carbon (it's the only one from Shibuya they have). Your video was a good reference for me. I decided to buy it and I'm very happy with it now :) The installation was easy and the materials are well machined. You even can feel the quality. To adjust the height for the right number for each distance in a rough way, I pitch (I hope this is the right word) my bow 90° towards me and I can change the sight easily while looking at the numbers of the front panel. Yes, you have to loosen the front screw to do this properly, even if you make a click adjustment. But as soon as you tighten it up again, there ist no movement at the sight block itself. I haven't testet the Shibuya Ultima, but I think for me it's okay to deal with the less comfort of the Dual Click. :)

The mystery knob locks the vertical adjustment in place. To make a vertical adjustment, you have to loosen this knob, make the adjustment and re-tighten the knob. It's an extra step which could be annoying (my Angel is similar in this way). The Ultima uses deeper click indentations to keep it from moving. Lots of top shooter use the Dual Click, and the Cartel is a greatly inferior copy with a reputation for rattling loose. My limited experience is that the Shibuyas are very well made and smooth.

Great video, thanks. Think Ill go for the Ultima sight eventually. Using a Avalon Tec One now which is not too bad but needs some tightning and maintenance before each session, and tools when adjusting.

I bought the Shibuya Ultima 520 after watching your videos. Haven't shot yet but looking forward to it. Slick little unit like a Swiss watch.

Hey nusensei I have the shibuya dual click and you have to screw in that knob in the front to keep the sight block solid to the mount. Ive had this sight for 2 years now nothing has came loose while I have shot

I figured as much. Great! It's definitely a solid choice for a sight. Thanks for the clarification.

does going from ultima aluminum to carbon makes any difference? besides the carbon bar, does the angle-orientation of the bar mounting screw secure the whole sight better? I'm considering one of the two but wouldn't mind the aluminum version if the side bar mount secures it just the same. after all, I like aluminum more. reason why I asked is because I've had several cheap sights where the extension bar moves up and down even even over tightened.

Hi Nusensai, when you mention at 4:35 about shooting low and needing to adjust it upwards. Isn't that incorrect? Don't you always adjust the sight towards the error? So if you are shooting low, you move the sight down? Thanks.

Hi NUSensei I really like your channel but why do some of your videos seem to have shaky movements? O.o It's really not a big deal, but it gets hard to watch them over time...

I just got the Dual Click from Abbey Archery after being frustrated with my Avalon Tec One which was always coming loose. Looks great despite some of the cheaper elements and feels far more secure than the Avalon

The Ultima was just discontinued (in favor of the Ultima II), so Ultimas are on sale! Price difference of about $70 currently.

Plenty of people have pointed out you didn't lock the dual click down so I'll skip that. I've used a dual click for about a year now and the best thing it has over the cheaper sights for me is that it stays tight on the riser mount even through extended use. Cheaper sights I've used tended to come loose there after a few shots unless you kept tightening it. If you didn't, it would slap around with an audible crack when you fired and rattle around all the time. The dual click is also nice and light, although the lateral adjustment is a bit of a pain if you want to shift it beyond a few clicks at a time.

Hello NUSensei, I am a new archer that owns a hoyt horizon with excel limbs. Once I develop proper form, I plan to buy a new bow and keep upgrading my gear. For now, however, I am using a cheap plastic sight. My question for you is: I want to upgrade my sight, do you think it would be a good idea to buy the shibuya ultima right from now? (That way I do not need to keep upgrading.) If not, I am trying to decide between the shibuya dual click and the Cartel Mighty. Could you give me a suggestion/ direction on what I should do, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you for all your great videos, they are very helpful!
@NUSensei
@NUSensei 9 лет назад
NobleShadow There's absolutely nothing wrong with the Ultima. if you're happy with spending the money, you're buying a sight that will never need to be replaced and is by far the superior product. If you're not comfortable with the price tag, there's no harm in going to the Dual Click or the Mighty, but the Ultima is simply a much more solid sight.

Here's a question from a newbie archer with glasses to a much more experienced archer with glasses: I find that either the sight is in focus and the target is blurred or the target is in focus and the sight is blurred. I think this is affecting my accuracy. If this happens to you how do you deal with it? Any suggestions?
@NUSensei
@NUSensei 9 лет назад
This is actually not an issue with glasses, but for all archers. It's only possible to focus on one thing, and that should be the target.The sight is meant to be a blur.

The dual click seems to share alot of similarities with the cartel expert. While shopping around online I've noticed to SF velocity seems to be in the same price range as the dual click and it appears to have more micro adjustment options.
@Wolfhound_81
@Wolfhound_81 9 лет назад
I own the Velocity Carbon (not Pro), and it does share some features with the Shibuya Ultima the Dual Click does not sport, like Markings on one side and a blank side for my own markings. Though i don't like the assembly, you do not remove the whole up-down sliding block, but only the Screw-Bar with the Tunnel on, the screw that is holding this loosens up very fast when shooting. Otherwise, it's almost the same as the dual click.
@vnjabee
@vnjabee 9 лет назад
I owned SF Premium which is the same sight as Velocity (just rebranded) and it is of mediocre build quality. With some loc-tite and pin's grub screw replaced with proper screw you can get on with it. But nothing to compare with exceptional build quality of any Shibuya.

I have a Cartel sight which is very similar in design to the Dual Click. It drives me mad because it comes loose so quickly, even with the locking screws done up as tightly as humanly possible. It seems like every second shot I'm having to check all the screws and re-tighten one or more of them. So for me the Ultima looks very attractive, but is it noticeably heavier than the Dual Click?
@NUSensei
@NUSensei 9 лет назад
Not really. The weight difference is negligible, especially if you use the Carbon model.

+NUSensei Hi NUSensei! I have been looking at some Shibuya Ultimas and Ive noticed that the sight block actually shifts ever so slightly (maybe a few clicks) when you wiggle the block up and down like you briefly mentioned in the video. Will this "micro" shifting matter in the grand scheme?
@NUSensei
@NUSensei 8 лет назад
I've never noticed such a shift in actual usage.

Hi! Which is better: SF Velocity Sight or Shibuya Dual Click? Thanks!
@NUSensei
@NUSensei 8 лет назад
They're very similar sights, so you'd be fine with either of them. I'd say the SF Velocity is slightly better than the Dual Click because of the design of the vertical bar.
@CarlosHernandez-lr3jd
@CarlosHernandez-lr3jd 8 лет назад
+NUSensei If you buy one of them, wich would you choose? I´m a new archer and I want to buy a good sight. I heard the Shibuya Dual Click is better than SF Velocity Carbon Sight for the materials. What do you think?
@NUSensei
@NUSensei 8 лет назад
I haven't personally used either, so I can't make a direct comparison. I'm partial to Shibuya because the design progresses to the top Ultima model, but I've seen others use the SF Velocity and have had no problems with it. I can't really recommend one over the other.

A guy who shopts quite often with me has the Dual Click. He is quite unhappy, as he has to retighten it every few shots. Do you think it is possible to get an Ultima block and replace the rattling Dual Click block?
@NUSensei
@NUSensei 9 лет назад
The Ultima sight block is specifically designed to attach to the Ultima sight bar. It won't work with the Dual Click and vice versa.
