Im sorry but out of all the arcs in HxH chimera ant arc is by far the worst, there is way too much narrator dialogue that nothing really happens in an episode. The other HXH arcs were just better, how creative greed island was, how memorable the phantom troupe were, and how the characters met at the exam arc.
It’s also relevant that the Shabuya arc is very recent in terms of future plot. How the chimera arc effortlessly plays into the next is masterclass, with dark continent implications.
I also think shibuya incident could've bennifitted from having an more normal shonen arc before it where Like the main three just win. Always kind of felt like such a turn happened too soon but I guess it's just a fast story in general
Couldn’t really talk about that as much as I wanted too delving into how special the story telling of chimera is could be its own separate video. I did allude to it when talking about how amazing the character development is in chimera. Trust me the stuff with komugi moves me a lot.
I’ve heard opinions like this too. The reason why I don’t necessarily agree is because of gege’s writing style. He’s very straight to the point and cuts no corners. You might not necessarily vibe with a mangaka’s writing style but I’ve learnt to accept it if they’re consistent with it.
I think Netero’s fight outclasses any JJK fight buy 2 or 3. JJK fights are so condensed, if it weren’t for the animations and good voice acting, don’t think they stand a chance against fights being more meaningful compared to HxH
I love both of them for different reasons and they're completely different in what they're trying to accomplish for their respective series. I find comparisons like this kinda weird since the subject matter and they way it's handled varies greatly between these 2.
I get that, but we’re all anime fans. We all like to have conversations like this cause they’re fun. Thats why I made this video to spark up a conversation and get different people’s opinions. I never said mine was definitive
@@Tobikads to be fair if the show also came out when jujutsu Kaisen did their fights wouldn’t even hold a candle to it. They were limited what they were capable of doing back in the day. They have AI that can do it in a week just keep that in mind Hunter Hunter is the goat. No show stand a chance.
Shibuya incident can't be compared with whole Chimera arc. It must be compared with Palace invasion arc. Shibuya arc is only 18 episodes, while Palace invasion is 23-24 and Chimera arc is 50+ episodes. Chimera arc must be compared with 2 seasons of JJK, 138 chapters of manga, because everything before Shibuya was a build up for Shibuya. Chimera arc isn't good arc for the battle shonen, because it basically lacks good fights. Though i like Meruem vs Netero fight more than any Shibuya fight, it is because of themes and emotions, not because of choreography, hype, art , etc. These arcs are incomparable because Chimera arc is about philosophy and emotions, while Shibuya is about fights and hype. None of them can be better than another, they are too different.
Both arcs having different styles is the exact reason why for great comparison. It’s like a team with a great offense going up against a team with a great defense. As for pacing I scaled both arcs to around the same length when i was analyzing them
Didn't Go Jo's separation around the Jo Go Sukuna fight contribute to the viral Jogoat meme which helped with the wow factor? The manga/anime timing isn't really fair.
@Tobikads Just writing in general. There are a bunch of issues with jjk in terms of the character arcs. For jjk it expects us to believe that Yuji is just like Mahito. Although this is a hype scene, it makes little sense. We have no reason to believe that Yuji is like Mahito. Yuji saves people since he can understand it is the right thing to do. Yuji saves people bc it's what his grandfather would want. However, jjk ignores all those details to attempt to have "deep scene". When in reality, it destroys Yuji's character arc. He even acts as if his actions have no purpose, and his actions are similar to Mahito. Curses kill people. Humans don't kill curses. The foil and parallel make no sense. When you compare that to Hunter Hunter and how it develops Gon and Meruem, it's not even close
It’s clearly the chimera ant Arc. Way better story and character development. I do think the Characters themselves are more entertaining and likable in Shibuya than in Chimera ant arc, by a small margin. However the amount of time spent with the characters in Chimera ant arc makes you more attached and invested in their out come in the end of the arc. I’ll give Shibuya better fights in terms of (Flash/hype), chimera any arc has better fights in terms of strategy. The fights in Shibuya did had some bad animation according to Mappa due to time constraints. I will say the more brutal story arc was probably Shibuya over all. But in terms of plot and character development, which are the foundational pieces of a Good story, Chimera Ant Arc wins.
Yea I agree I basically said everything you said about the story telling for chimera in the video. But you also gotta be great at other things too. Shibuya does that, Chimera not as much
@@Tobikads my main issue is pacing. When Kite fights Pitou and Gon flees with Killua I thought they'd return fairly quickly (for an anime). Instead they start a training arc. All the while Gon is crying about how he wants to save Kite or how it's possible Kite is okay. But they are training for so long it doesn't make any sense that Gon believes it's possible Kite is alive. If Kite was alive, he would've returned well before they finished training. Like 3 episodes took place in the span of 1 second too😭.
