My wife wanted a 2014 Cadillac XTS(black). Unfortunately it has a Freon leak under the Dash. I didn't want any part of that. Wound up getting a one owner, Well Maintained 2014 Buick Enclave,3.6 engine. It's been a year and knock on wood, so far so Good. Keep Wrenching Kenny.

Kenny, the mileage discrepancy may have been that the odometer is reading miles, and the report is in kilometers? 22K miles is about 35K km.

Completely agree on km. I have the same scanner (and love it) but there's some things that I notice occasionally that are metric - in our USA empirical culture.

In the lower section of the email report, scroll to the Professional Report. Click the down arrow for expanded module report. The codes are in there with a short description. The code links that are present in the live scanner screen are not in the emailed report. It's a manual search at the point. FYI More DS is Data Stream. Be careful in Mexico.

Wikipedia told you wrong. The XT5 is based on the shorter wheelbase variant of the C1XX platform like the GMC Acadia and Chevy Blazer. The Buick Enclave and Chevy Traverse use the longer wheelbase variant of the C1XX platfom. The early 2017-2019 XT5 is different in that it has an Aisin AF50-8 transmission instead of the GM 6/9 speeds used in all the other models. The Aisin is bulletproof as is the LGX 3.6L. The only cons of the early XT5 are the wonky shifter and strange lack of knobs for HVAC/radio controls.

Another nice thing I noticed about that scanner. The cable comes out the top, keeping the stress off the cable when the units in your lap. It seems my lap has grown over time.

Hello Mr. Kenny, possibly in a future episode, would give a little discussion or explanation of “reprogramming” services, when you use them, how do you find the people that do it and typically what modules require it, other than the ECM or PCM? Thanks in advance.

Im assuming it uses a 12v reversible motor to shift the transmission in the gears. I’m betting the shift motor assembly has a sensor to determine how much rotation is being done to get in to gear. Hope this helps

BCM holds the mileage on that one and that's why used BCM's aren't recommended because the mileage will never be accurate as it can't be changed in those GM global systems.

Bet the actual fault is the linkages have worn slightly, so the acceptable range of motions the module expects have drifted slightly from the factory values, and the relearn is simply to get the new centre position, and adjust the allowable values to have that be the new centre, as it probably drifted 1mm or so due to the settling in with use. Only way to check is to use manual mode, and thus have the shifter actually be moved during the drive, so you can verify it is still reading all positions correctly in actual use.

You sound like you know what you're talking about. You really do. I'm willing to bet that you could pass for a lube tech. However, there's a small problem with your theory. There's no cable connected to the shifter. Its a shift by wire system that runs an actuator on or in the transmission itself. The procedure you're talking about can't be done on the vehicle in the video.

@@AT-wl9yq Linkages internal to module, which is the entire shifter unit, and yes I know there are no cables. It however is like the accelerator pedal, in that there are 2 position sensors, and they will need to have the zero position, neutral, need to be set, as the internal parts wear.

I feel like the Mid to late 90's vehicles were perfect. Technology is way overly advanced and overly complicated nowdays. It's just stupid Sensors apun sensors on top of computers with sensors to control thse other sensors.
