Lineup suggestions: 1. Let's extend Matheson (9-10M) and Meech(5-7M) to 8 year deals now. Both are slotted to play higher in the lineup than they ever have and see monster growth/production. They’re both big, fast and well-rounded on top of being the Kennedy and Perfetti trade returns. Let's lock them up while they’re still cheap. 2. Same thing with Nikulin and Chubarov. 5-8 years each, as open market Dmen are ridiculously expensive and they can always be traded if need be. 3. Let’s not play 37yo Robertson in the top-6 or on the PP at all during the regular season. We already have a good thing going in those areas and that’s not why he’s brought in to help. He's on the team to balance out the top 9, fix the bottom 6 scoring issues and insulate Pojar (Svensson's heir apparent) alongside Pinto. 4. Let's only go for smart and fast players on the PK with the combinations below. 5. Minnesota's forward core is NASTY… Hands down, the best in the league. CGY, CBJ, CHI, TB and SJ are very good too, but we’re right in the mix, looking better than we have in a long time. Matheson - Lombardi - Dowd Patrick - Gavin - Meech Robertson - Pinto - Pojar Gomez - Shultz - Stoll Parker (to the AHL) Stempniak - Hoffman Chubarov - Mills Power - Nikulin Punnenovs Kutha PP1 Matheson - Lombardi - Pojar Patrick - Mills PP2 Meech - Gavin - Dowd Stempniak - Hoffman PKs Lombardi - Patrick Stempniak - Mills Gavin - Meech Chubarov - Hoffman Matheson - Gomez Power - Nikulin

Loving all the lineup suggestions Alex!! I will definitely look at extensions and change out the PK to try to get it somewhere respectable...

Awesome episode Kronos! The team's almost there, as far as being set up to win a couple more cups :) Pro suggestions: 1. With Chubarov unexpectedly growing to 81ov, the need for defense is gone! In fact, he should play on the 2nd pair ahead of Power to balance out each unit. 2. Elliott Patrick drops 3ov after a career year and a stellar PO run… Same with Shultz. NO good, young defenseman in sight around the league. Even Bhowmik fell off after a career year in NJ. Utter BS, EA… 🤦 3. HOCKEY TRADE: Solomon Pyatt for Howard Quenneville Arizona's at it again. However, in an ideal world, Quenneville would have been extended long term before the big trade. Therefore, we fix it by giving the Coyotes a slightly lower overall, but signed med elite player. We receive a slightly higher rated, unsigned low elite player in exchange. 4. MONSTER BLOCKBUSTER TRADE: Mats Svensson (extended if eligible) + Howard Quenneville (signed for 8 years) + pick/prospect (if necessary value-wise) to SJ for Jordan Gavin SJ hasn’t done a thing throughout the series and Gavin (91ov) has been their 1C since Eklund left. As things stand, the Sharks have FOUR 1Cs (Arsene 90ov, Mackie 90ov, Raty 88ov) and no top 6 RWs at all. On the flip side, we have young wingers galore, but could use a clear cut, game breaking superstar C to complement Lombardi. With this trade, both teams are left deeper and more balanced. The Sharks still have Arsene (26yo) + Mackie (22yo) + Raty (33yo) down the middle and they add a perennial PPG Svensson + Quenneville as their new 1RW & 2RW. Both Svensson (27yo) and Quenneville (24yo) are younger than Gavin (who turns 30 in November), BUT they’re substantially slower, less rounded and play the lesser position, so the value balances itself out. It's a win-win in the true sense of the word. One of Stempniak or Lombardi is to inherit Svensson's A 😢 5. BLOCKBUSTER TRADE: Canzanello (extended long term if eligible) + Niko Tukio (extended for 6-8 years) + longshot prospect (if necessary to bridge the value gap) to NYR for a 1st round pick NYR is an aging team with no star forward or D and no starting goaltender. With this trade, they acquire two prime, young NHL pieces. Just like Askarov irl, Canzanello's worth a 1st on his own… But we know how EA values goalies. He's the one to leave because Kuhta is slightly younger, slightly bigger and slightly better. An amazing player nonetheless. Up front, Tukio slots right next to Lafreniere and Dorofeyev on LW and has a chance to become NYR's best option at the position as soon as next year. In exchange for two “A” pieces, Winnipeg receives NYR's 1st round pick which has a chance to be top 5 given the average age/talent level of the roster. There's no NHL spot for Canzanello and Tukio scored 6 assists in 23 PO games. The player's screaming for a change while the organization is screaming for an upgrade. 6. BLOCKBUSTER TRADE: Alexei Kenins + Winnipeg's 1st round pick + longshot prospect (if necessary to bridge the value gap) to Dallas for Jason Robertson Same principle as the Gavin trade. As things stand, DAL has FOUR 1LWs (Robertson, Nattinen, Afanasenkov, Murray). All but Robertson are med-elite and 24yo or younger. So while Robertson (37yo) is a legendary Star, he's effectively blocking three younger and equally skilled LWs from playing higher in the lineup and developing. They move Robertson for a 1st to either use it at the draft (if their team falters) or flip the pick for an actual position of need at the TDL if they're contenders. Winnipeg takes advantage of Dallas' roster construction to acquire an amazing player, though said player's on his last leg in the NHL. Unlike Tkachuk who's already down to bottom 6 potential, Robertson still has top 6 potential, which should allow him to last through the playoffs. 7. Longshot prospect to CBJ for Simon & Gundersen, in order to allow Grigorenko/Donald/Numminen to play. Then Simon/Lander/Gundersen to NJ, BOS, BUF, VGK or PIT for 4th-7th round picks. With these trades, we get more skilled, more experienced, way faster and grittier as a team while mainly retaining the core that led us to a cup win, a 1st round exit and two cup finals over the last 4 years. At the same time, the rest of the league gets deeper and more balanced. Everyone benefits and we're better poised to get over the hump in crunch time.

1. Agreed! Chubarov can nicely slot into the 2nd pair! 2. It is complete nonsense and makes this game so tough to play. 3/4. I think this is a really smart idea and something I had not really considered at all! I'll have to take a look at trade values and how Jordan Gavin has played but I do like the idea! 5. Yeah we have so many extra pieces I think a trade like this to give someone a goalie and a winger could really help out the league as a whole and stops us from hoarding all the best players 6. Jason Robertson is super interesting! I didn't realize how stacked the Dallas LW position is, but him being so old and never having won a cup is a great storyline to put onto the roster if it makes sense! 7. Yeah we definitely have to spread some of the goalie love around the league because we have a couple NHL caliber goalies and some other teams are hoarding too. So, I'll try to distribute the goalies around! Thank you so much for all the continued support, Alex! I can't tell you how much it helps out the series and really gives the channel an extra boost with all your insight!
