Shiitake mushroom logs galore at Green Pastures Farm. 

Love it. This is great for people coming to new property and want to know what to do with clearing it out.

If you have a video about the harvesting/marketing process, would love to see it. You've mentioned it here and there, but a thousand log harvest sounds like a lot of work!

There I some amazing research out there about sun dried mushrooms and vitamin D. Very interesting.

Something I look forward to doing myself one day. Guessing the log location is pretty essential though too and in Australia, we get pretty hot so I'll find a cooler, more moist place on the property. Northern/ Eastern White Pine, if bark beetle doesn’t kill it. Up to 180’ - 240’ tall and 200 - 400 yrs old.

I read and lot about shitake mushroom farming but there's very little good information about how to market them. To make the time and money invested worthwhile, you have sell them. How do you sell yours Greg?

Have you had any logs dry out and could you talk about keeping them from drying out in your next shiitake video?

Watched a video that showed them soaking the logs in water before inoculating. Looks like you don't bother with that? How long do you rest the logs from being cut to being inoculated?

Thanks again for all your videos! That looks like a lot of fun! I love to learn and work at the same time. Those size of logs is the perfect size for my fireplace. It is a catch 22 for me if I did that size but I think I could spare of few logs though.

Why only shiitaki? Have you tried other mushroom varieties?
