20lb -25lb are the two I use. 2oz.-6oz. lures I use 20lb line. 5oz.-9oz. lures I use 25lb. I throw big swimbaits all day and never have any problems with these two sizes.
Forgot to add. I like Seaguar Invisx and Sunline shooter. If you like braided line to leader I use 80lb Power Pro Max Cuatro to Sunline Saltimate 25lb shock leader. Simply the best when throwing heavy swimbaits. Max Cuatro and Saltimate are very thin lines and very strong for how thin they are. Simply the best in the world in my huble opinion.
Calcutta Conquest reel is saltwater reel. You can dunk the reel in the saltwater and just rinse with freshwater and still work fine. I have one Calcutta TE 401 and I dunked my reel in saltwater so many time while surfperch fishing on my channel still work fine.
Whats the main differences between the conquest type baitcaster and your normal baitcaster? Is conquest baitcaster really meant for salt water fishing?
I wont say it's design for salt or fresh. But this conquest version is smaller in body size. And installed with MD gears and Drag. Means it's stronger? But smaller and maybe lighter by a little? Anyway this is the latest model for 300 and 400 size conquest. The old model I don't think it's still in production.
@REDTACKLEtv so is it pretty much the same as our typical regular baitcaster? Any advantages besides being lighter? I've seen some people using this big round shape baitcaster time to time and always wondered what the difference is..... Thanks
