@Rinne Sharingan God I mean atlus has made it into a habit for them killing gods.. Plus Dante has less power against smt characters who can wipe out a universe not to mention one of the mc for smt is an overlord for demons and became so powerful yeah Dante is less scary for me now
This video shows exactly what it is to be a demon, one of strongest beings in existence, and be hunted down by a creature which is essentially a predator of your kind. So wait...by the demons perspective, the DMC series is a survival horror?!
Screw jumpscares, if you wanna terrify people, just have a gunslinging, demon slaying, sword immune badass chasing you Edit: Was not expecting this many likes from you beautiful people
Henry Conner That’s actually a bonafide horror trope, where the killer is walking but running doesn’t seem to work anyway. That just makes Dante even more terrifying here.
@HaremGodRance Generally people don't like Jacked DMC4 Dante because he's muscular. I think DMC4 Dante looks great. Especially his coat. Still, DMC3 Dante in the DMC1 costume is the best.
Melfice Cyrum I guess whatever they worked out was quid pro quo, cus one of SMT's artists ended up designing Dante and Vergil's devil trigger forms for DMC3. always thought the personas looked familiar, and I guess playing DMC3 was the reason which I could never quite put my finger on until I learned this.
This might be after DMC 2 where Dante went to the next hell(Nocturne) and when Lucia hear the motorcycle,Dante already done work with Naoki in event of Nocturne Thats my thought even its fanmade
The condición for domingo this is the Devil trigger from Devil may cry 3...Will be designed by Atlus. That explained why Dante and Vergil had pseudoinsect humanoid form.
@@tsyumamatsuthehavenofguard32 The combo system in DMC2 functions differently. Instead of being timing-based, it works by tilting the control stick at certain points in the combo. It's weird and most people don't like how it feels even when they know what they're doing. And SMT3 did actually kinda show a couple of his combos. His "Whirlwind" skill uses the ending animation from his "2-hit then tilt" combo, and his "Rebellion" skill is straight-up his full "3-hit then tilt" combo. (The latter being kind of dumb-looking, in my opinion)
Basically they had an artist go over to Capcom and design the devil triggers for DMC3, in exchange for Dante making a cameo in SMT. A nice deal if you ask me.
@@muammarraihan9351 In Europe, Nocturne was released as "SMT: Lucifer's Call" and there was a sticker on the front of the box that read -- you guessed it -- "Featuring Dante from the Devil May Cry series". Fans found this funny because Dante only shows up three times in the entire game, and two of them are optional (this video is one of the optional times)
Dante was outside the hospital when the Conception occured, and somehow i consider that plausible. I can't even defend it. I just believe it. BECAUSE DANTE.
@@LuckiSir well in Before Nightmare novel it say Dante actually forgot what happen after that. So its quiet possible to him goes into SMT Universe and get hired by Lucifer.
It’s important to Dante’s client who hired him to get it, he knows it has value but he has no interest in giving it to said client so to him it’s worthless, but knows it can be useful to the Demi Fiend.
Apart from being something that he doesn't need but knows is useful to Demi-Fiend, it's also a bit of a callback to a line of his in DMC2, where he referred to the key items that the antagonist needed as "pieces of crap" before casually tossing them to him.
When SMT Dante in his DMC2 clothes acts more like Dante than the actual DMC2 dante. Man what id give for Rueben langdon to voice this dante just for the fun of it.
The fact that it's heavily hinted that he just played with hitoshura the whole time, avoided turn into DT and that the Stinger he launched at the end of the fight could've killed him is truly something. Personally I think it was a pity that he gets outclassed by many demons (no focus and pierce), even with that I think he's a very cool party member with great skills. Pros: - It's Dante - Cool attack animations - Overall a great char - Fits perfectly with the SMT world - It's Dante Cons - DMC2 Dante - No Pierce/Focus - Joins very late - Level him up is a pain - Gets outclassed easily And last but not least it's really a pity that he doesn't use DT in the whole game. It would be cool if it was his last skill (Showtime was a bit disappointing). Also the fact that the game allows you to pursuit the TDE with Dante in your team makes no sense at all because Dante wouldn't allow that, they should make you face Dante a third time, but this time in Devil Trigger. Even with all I think Atlus did a great job with the character. It's ironic that they did a better job with than the owner of the franchise. Personally I would have liked to be the DMC1 Dante with Alastor but at least his personality is the one from that game.
One of those cons i can get past since i've started playing it on PCSX2 again which lets me mod his skill set so he can have Focus and Pierce i would just have to figure out which skill to replace. Speaking of the TDE and Dante i think it's because this is DMC2 Dante and something happened to him to get him the way he is plus he probably found out the truth about YHVH and the angels as well as finding out that really despite his actions Lucifer isn't one of the true villains so Dante could just be ok with the whole thing to weaken both sides and free the humans.
@The Axiom Demi Fiend's feats are barely worth mentioning compared to someone like Aleph or Flynn. And in the Stephen fight he's not the only person doing something, there are 4 other messaiahs plus 3 demons of your choice, even if we argue that demons don't count it's literally 5 of humanity's strongest champions vs Stephen, who doesn't even die in the end, he just nods and says that humans have potential. Dante on the other hand in DMC2 unlocked a form that made him universally omnipotent
It kinda makes it bad for Dante to be honest. Demi fiend gets stronger with every fights he wins. Yes even the basic ones. It says alot about his potential. While Dante either needs devil arms or more weapons to absorb or just straight get older to get stronger and not even the same tremendous power up of the demi fiend's
God, I remember doing this lol He was a pretty good party member too, but got outclassed too quickly for my liking, though I kept him on as long as I could.
Thanks to Dante, I managed to achieve the True Demon Ending. Seriously, he saved my ass with Holy Star and Taunt. Easily one of the heaviest hitters in my roster.
@@TheSlammurai I kept the Pixie around before I knew about her upgrade since I prefer story characters over randoms, even if they only have a few lines in the game. So of course the same is true for Dante.
You cannot convince me that this game's title isn't "Featuring Dante from the Devil May Cry Series II.8 Final Chapter Prologue: Electric Boogaloo OR How the Mixed Up Zombies Learned to Stop Worrying & Knuckles".
@@JnEricsonx so the original only has dante. In the newer version, raidou replaces dante completely in the story. You cant get both in the same game. Dunno about hacking it tho
I havent even gotten to the conception yet, and everyone has something wrong with them. Naoki's eyes exist outside of his head, Chiaki's mouth is a black hole 90% of the time, Isamu's hat is transparent, the dude that gives you the occult magazine looks like he's from Chowder, and like I said, the conception hasn't happened yet, but the world is already falling apart. This is most likely because I'm on Damon Pro (since it's the best PS2 emulator I know of on android) but holy shit
This was pre-devil trigger, as this is DMC2 Dante. Fun fact: The concept artist of the Devil Trigger of DMC3 is the main character designer of this game, Kazuma Kaneko, so it just goes full circle
giovanni midiri what no He had devil trigger the enemies in this game including Lucifer would’ve become Simps if he did transform...I mean how fucking terrifying do you think his Majin/desperado trigger is he has two super moves with it OmniExplosive Wave and OmniBeam and his body receives zero damage in this form. His Normal DT allows him to heal at an absurd rate; this Dante also has Chrono heart which means every attack he makes when DT is activated slows down time he’s got nearly all elemental type damage, can fly, has his Pistols, sub machine guns, Rocket launcher, sawed off shotgun, and a Sword that’s nigh Unbreakable. He defeated a demon God/King and Slain a former Demon God/King. Dude was already an OP Main Character, the only you win against him in nocturne is if you bore him too much he just quits fighting you. Heck DMC2 was so boring because he was too OP you could finish the entire game with just his Pistol talk about OP even in the hardest difficulty (Okay this last part I’m BS but honestly makes sense story wise he was practically bored with all the enemies in the game cause of how OP he is.).
5:51 Demifiend: "OH SHIT!!!". Dante is so freaking OP that even a god slayer like demifiend is no match for him, makes me wonder how persona characters would react to a fight against him
@@cryptohello7666 true, but let's say it was in cutscene retrospective, and a Persona character had a gun on them. Anybody would die, like as if a gun beats arcane psychological magic and/or divinity in the Persona Smt sub-universe
@@cryptohello7666 Personas 3-5 especially would like a word considering they all end in killing or stopping a deity capable of mass extinction. If anything, they're some of the strongest in the smt spin offs considering some of the others are straight up fucked if their phones or comp just happen to get smashed. They'd probably handle pretty fine throughout mainline events.
@@toondude78 but let's just say this is in the real world, or even in the vortex world. In the former, the Persona characters (outside of those from 2) would be fucked since they're literally just normal teens. The persona 2 characters are the only ones that are capable of summoning their personas whenever they please. P1 cast can only summon them in the parallel universe, P3 during the dark hour (or in a dream as proven in PQ,) P4 in the TV world (same deal as P3 cast,) and P5 in the Metaverse (same deal) and in the vortex world, then in best case scenario they could become Pseudo-Fiends like Isamu or Chiaki and develop a reason. Worst case scenario they'd end up a soul that Dante could quite possibly make quick work of. Basically, other than MAYBE the P2 cast, no one in Persona stands a chance against Dante.
@@Youhadabadday2021 no nemesis are some types of enemies that are "to fight you have to flight" type of thing.. Like the ones in re2 and re3. or the one you just mentioned.
@@Youhadabadday2021 Think he was specifically referencing the Tyrant type unkillable boss enemy from Resident Evil 3 (i appreciate he didn`t say Mr.X in the RE2 remake).
DeadMemes NeedToStayDead ok boomer. Here‘s the thing, your taste, simply sucks. No „it‘s subjective“, no „he‘s older and new gen dude“, your taste in overall style is just straight up trash. Devil May Cry is very well known for over the top style and design. And sure, the „over-sinolified“ style does work sometimes. Look at V. His look is literally the most basic, but it was perfect for his style and character. Nero also is the perfect „new gen“ look to Dante‘s. He still has that cool Demon Hunter look that suits him, while still wearing normal modern street clothes. Especially with either his Demon, or Mechanical Arms. But Dante? He overall doesn‘t look like the every day guy (or Dad/ Uncle). Dante was always designed to look like *THE* Demon Hunter. You can even see it in his cronological order. In DMC3, he is like Nero. Pretty standard street attire which suited him perfectly when he was still unexperienced and young. In DMC1, he strarted to develop his love for Leather and the Color Red. He started to wear something that firs his profession after realizing he can do that stuff for Money and in a Buisness way. In DMC4, he started to get older and that‘s where he got more the „Dad“ look. He still kept his love for leather, but also still kept the effort in keeping his personalized style/ touch on his clothes. Like that he has too many belts on his body and „special“ looking fingerless gloves while packing way too much Leather. But he also still looks like a professional, someone unique which Dante was always proud to show. DMC2‘s look doesn‘t suit Dante‘s personality as much, mainly because DMC2 Dante was a complete new take on Dante and they almost remade him there. But nonetheless, the reason why Dante‘s look in DMC2 is the best, is because he looks the most professional and most legit Demon Hunter there. The color placement works perfectly, they replaced his coat with a unique tailed Vest. He *looked* like the powerful Demon Hunter he is supposed to be and he looked like the guy that can kill *everything.* He simply looked like the best man for his profession. Everyone would take him serious. DMC5 Dante looks like he flat out was drunk on a Party and came the next day to work and forgot to shower. *Nothing* on him says „Demon Hunter“ except his Coat. Even Lady and Trish look more like Demon Hunters than Dante. And what are your f-king counter arguments on him? „He has a beard, he doesn‘t have a bowlcut and he rides a motorcycle!“ well dumbass, DMC4 Dante also had a beard, so it‘s nothing new on him. He had the bowlcut in 1, 3 & 4, he did start to change the Hairstyle in DMC2, which in some concept arts, looked like the predecessor to DMC5 Dante‘s hair. And dude, Dante was driving and using any other badass things prior. Your points to „why“ DMC5 Dante looks best are lackluster at best. You lack *a lot* in the creativity department and if you genuenly believe DMC5 dante looks best, then that means you also think Reboot Dante looks better than the original ones, since the 2 look very indentical in clothes.
I'm surprised how in character Dante acts in this. Especially given how he's not acting like he was in 2, (the game which his design was taken from) but 4, which wouldn't come out for years after this.
The way Dante fights in this, is more epic than DMC2....like man the controls in dmc2 is sooooo stiff and it just hurts your hands pressing buttons for combos, but in dmc1 and 3 it was extremely enjoyable and fun to experiment on how you can cancel your attacks out
When an action game character looks more epic in a friggin' _turn-based RPG_ than in the source material, then you know the original game has some real problems.
I still have the guide for this game, near 16 years later sitting on my shelf. I didn't know anything about it, just that it looked interesting and Dante was in it. I really need to play it again at some point.
Actually, in the next game he would've looked more natural, remember Kaga's group? www.parkablogs.com/sites/default/files/shin-megami-tensei-iv-09.jpg He'd also fit right in with whatever the fuck Nozomi is doing vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/megamitensei/images/1/1a/Nozomi_SMTIV_Final.png
My friend told me about this game mainly because it featured dante & I’m a huge dmc fan “I only know him from smt3, he clapped me hard” was his exact quote lmfao
Nocturne so does need a Switch port. Atlus said they wanted Shin Megami Tensei to be the Nintendo franchise! So why not put your most revered game from that franchise on Nintendo!?
