I remember this one time. Times were tough. I had just started a new job. My kids mom (wife) had bailed on us. I had to stop at the store and get some milk and some diapers. I hadn’t eaten in like 2 weeks. My card got declined cus broke. I just froze and was staring at my kid. This lady behind tapped me on the shoulder and said she would pay for it. I couldn’t talk. Then she asked me if I had eaten lately. I still couldn’t talk. She paid for the milk and diapers, and asked me again if I had eaten. I finally found my voice and thanked her and left the store and then tears started down my face. Like ugly cry tears. Ma’am I haven’t seen you since that day. But thank you. You have no idea how close things were for me then.

I just got blocked by three Shinedown tour busses on Calumet Ave in Hammond when they were pulling into The Festival of the Lakes this morning!!

July 2024, going to see them back to back. California and Nevada. Concert numbers 8 and 9 for me. And hopefully just the beginning of many, many more!

This song hits so many of my life experiences,knowing that when i walked out the door, nothing ever was going to be the same ,,,i tried for so long to keep my family together,,but one day i just had enough and nothing i did or say could change the demon she had become ,took my sons and i honestly believe she didn't realize the three of us were gone for a few days ,,,addiction, betrayal, didn't want my sons to watch their mom as day to day it just got worse .Look trust me i definitely am no saint by no means.but i wasnt gonna let my boys witness the disrespect i endured that one day was gonna end real bad for her .and land me locked up.13 years its been since i left the keys on the table ,my boys now are young men, their mom comes around every now and again.honestly it was the best move i could have made for them ,
