I’ve been a fan Since the first time I saw them in 2003! The finale four are absolutely amazing together!!! Watching them grow has been a huge part of my growth in life
I saw them live at Carnival of Madness a couple of years ago and this was their closing song. Nothing can describe the level of hype that occurs when this song is played live.
Absolutely agree with you. I’ve never really listened to shinedown until the last few weeks. I went with my brother in law and sister in law to see them in Birmingham Saturday night. Never heard this song until then. It was killer. I was really impressed with them.
True true. But his vocals are still better than most. He’s a once in a generation singer. And seeing his recent stuff as of Planet Zero in 2022… he’s still holding on as legendary. But he did have to make that decision to not constantly tear his vocal cords up and need medication to overcome it. Planet Zero in 2022 really showed his range and ability. He’s still killing it. His songwriting right now is honestly as badass as his singing was in the early 2000s. That matters more to me than shredding his throat. “Cut the Cord” is one of the best live performances I can think of to back this up. Absolutely a great song for addicts and people dealing with personal issues, which is what makes Shinedown… shine. In the recorded version, his vocals when he screams “CUT THE CORD” are so feral and badass. But we can’t expect him to do that 100 times a year while touring. It’s not fair to him. So he usually turns the mic over to the audience for that part. And it’s fun as all hell. The recovering addicts and people fighting their mental issues fill in the throat shredding chorus. We can do it for one night. Brent can’t do it 100 times a year. They really know how to get the fans involved, and as someone that understands the reason, I just love it.
This performance is ligit he is definitely singing the whole song no backing track either. I've seen them live over 10 times I can always tell when they use a backing track. This really is him singing the complete song it makes me happy I new he could do it live just always did backing vocals probably to save his voice.
“What are you worth? The things you love or the people you hurt?” Is such a great line. This is a banger live for sure. But that line really sums up what the song means. Be aggressively strong. But love people. Be fine. BOOM-LAY, BOOM-LAY, BOOM!!!!
That is all him singing there isn't a track being played. They have no tracks being played on there tour this year or a few years ago. There are slight differences & videos upfront you can see him take in a huge breath. He is singing all songs & killing it. I've seen them live over 10 times I can pick out tracks.
No tracks are being played. Yes in the past they did only for chorus. There are slight differences he is singing this. He is singing every song no tracks last few years. Apparently he had some vocal issues in the past is what people are saying his voice is healed.
That's which brent is so amazing!! I may be wrong but I dont believe so. I think God says you kicked the devil in the teeth.. here is your reward. .straight vocals of a angel
No he isn't no track is played here. Yes in the past but last few years no tracks. It is him singing this. There are slight differences. I saw another video from this year right upfront he took in huge breaths & was exhausted at the end of song & nailed it.
What… you don’t like bands to perform at 100% and pay respects to all members? Sit down, shut up, drink a beer and enjoy the show. WTF man? You like this band enough to apparently look up a live performance… but you complain about the lead singer introducing the drummer, bassist and guitarist? Come on bro. It’s like you’ve never been to an actual concert.
