As I'm Jacksonville Florida, myself I've seen these guys perform many times the early days are much profound than now, there so much bigger but my memories of the original band in this insight will always be showdown to me,awesome days I'll never forget,no more love
I think the current band members are the band Shinedown was meant to be. Brent has a special way of connecting with crowds and people, too, that the Myers and Bass duo compliment melodically. Somewhere, I feel If You Only Knew area of life realigned Brents perceptions, making it collide with a rockstar mind, and he, as an Amaryllis himself, continues to bloom. I'm proud of you, guys. Accomplishments, shmeh, I'm proud that you fought the shackles of surrealism fame, and flourished into an enlightened human being. We never choose our available choices, we simply grab em and run. Are you choosing best?
This video just doesn't do them justice. I saw them live and they opened with this song. It was the most amazing thing I have ever heard. You have to remember that these guys are not praised by the press so they have to tour to gain fans. They tour for almost 2 years straight of shows night after night so Brent gets a little worn out. Also, you HAVE to see them live. Brent sings EVERY song with everything that he has. I Dare You, Simple Man and this were absolutely breath taking live.
i think all the members past or present are all great. brent obviously picked them bc he knows they can get the job done. i have yet to argue with one of brents decisions on anything. he is so smart and in my opinion the best singer of todays rock music. any shinedown freak would agree
he gives it his best in the songs on the album. if he did that live his voice would be gone after like 3 songs. but even when he doesnt go all out he is still badass.
Because he wasn't trained properly in projecting his voice. There's a right way and a wrong way to do it. His style is very balls-out and it's hard to maintain that over years.
Yeah, he was def professionally trained. After his first band broke, prior to Shinedown forming, he was offered a solo recording contract and you bet your ass his managers and the label had a vocal coach meet with him for a period of time. He has tons of natural ability though and he is balls out, but he's def professionally trained to some degree. Every band with a good singer has a vocal coach once theyre on a record label. Even Jacoby from Papa Roach, James Hetfield and m shadows from A7X have vocal coaches. Some of my favorite singers that Ive never heard of being coached is Aaron Lewis, Chester Bennington, MJK, Layne Staley, Chris Cornell or Corey Taylor. There are some good rock vcl teachers who also teach online but who also train well known metal and rock singers. The best practice method Ive used to date, is just hearing myself on recordings and fine tuning things by ear. My sister grew up in choir and I wish I had some of that training, proper breathing and knowing how things are properly done can't hurt and it just knowing about them doesn't mean you have to use the technique.
@@kustomhooligans Brent has said he wasn't trained or had vocal coach until SOM. Rick Beato who produced LAW said Brent is a amazing singer. He was signed to a development deal where he wrote songs with other song writers no actual singing or demoing. Go listen to Blind Thought he was 16 on that album it is on RU-vid.
@UterusGoo actually most of the music in Shinedown was written by people other than the actual members Brent wrote with a ton of people, especially on LAW and SOM.
I saw them live back on the 16th with saving abel and buckcherry... they ended their set with this song and added a really heavy outro to it.. it was fuckin sweet
at GordoDustin... ..He performs all the time ... You cant do that to your vocals none stop.. He Picks and Chooses when to give goosebumps. NAME A VOCALIST THAT ...NEVERMIND
Chester Bennington.....I have a very hard time finding live versions of songs where he half asses it to take it easy on his throat bcuz he's on tour. Another one of my favorite singers whose not necessarily known as an outrageously talented singer is Jacoby from Papa Roach he may not be known as a singer like Chris Cornell but he uses the entire range of his vocals and he hits it just as hard every live concert as he did on his recordings and I really applaud him for that and I'm always impressed! Layne Staley is another guy who doesn't cut corners.
@@kustomhooligans Those singers don't have the power vocals like Brent does. He sings songs not just scream. Shinedown lives on the road touring 300 days out of a year for 2 years straight.
yeah, s'pose you got a point, but you gotta support the support band too. the main act were like the support act at one times, that is waiting for their break into fame. and yup, shinedown are a fucking amazing band!!
This is the original shinedown b4 they went out with the old in with the new members... I saw them for the first time in a couple of years last month and the singer has put on a bit of wait.. not that that is bad, just of blurtation of observation lol anywayz good vid...
This concert must be from before Shinedown was a worldwide phenomenom... oh wait. I love the heck out of this band, but they are hardly known in my country (Brazil).
I like how people come on here and talk shit. I know that in my spare time I look up all the artists on RU-vid I don't like and complain about them. Get a life man
This crowd's nothing compared to the first time I saw them. I'm from CT but I was in L.A. on vacation and they played the Whiskey the day we arrived, we had no idea they were gonna be there. They were amazing and my friend and I were losing our minds in the middle of this crowd of jaded self-important Hollywood fuckheads who were too uber-cool to put a fist up and yell. "We're from New England fuckers, if we like a band we actually show it!"...well, except this crowd obviously...
Man, i wish they'd just take a break for a couple of years, let Brent's( lead singer) voice rest, get Jasin Todd ( the guy playing guitar) back in the band and see if they can be this band (shown here) cuz they're not this band anymore.
Losing his voice? Heh. You should say it's getting BETTER. because this is from the very beginning of shinedown. before Brent cut his hair. xD but I agree I've seen better live performances from brent. Not that this one is bad. I like this performance alot. Anywho, there ya go. =p
Well, ive seen some live videos of this song and he doesnt hit the high notes, always tries to make lower arrangements and the old trick of letting the people sing. Im a Shinedown fan in fact but its kind of dissapointing that he struggles so hard to sing the song even similar to the studio version.
He pushes it in the studio and make their songs very hard to sing. He sometimes forgot about touring and how long they tour when they record the songs.
the crowd sucked..prolly waitin for him to sing it right..y doesnt he hit the high notes like he does on the studio version..that grungy yell he does makes the song sound bad..nd he does it alllll the time..it reallly takes away from his performance..and he's capable of wayyyyyyyyy more
They're new guitarist is so much better than the original. The original guitarist always stuck to power chords. He needs to expand his musical horizons. The new Shinedown just has such better chemistry than the original lineup. I've been following them since leave a whisper and can play every one of their singles on guitar and some extras. So before you talk shit about Shinedown now pick up an instrument and actually understand music besides saying omg look at the crowd. They weren't as big as
I know 'Amaryllis' wasn't out when you wrote this comment, but if you listen to 'For My Sake' off the album, you will see why Jasin Todd is no longer part of Shinedown... It is sad he left, or sad he was told to leave as it is now known, as i thought he was a great part of Shinedown, and was a great guitarist that fitted in well with their music, but like i said, the song 'For My Sake' tells exactly why Brent asked him to leave...
Fair dues, I HONESTLY DON'T KNOW IF THEY WERE THE SUPPORT BAND, but if they were no one goes to see a band and likes to wait for them by watching some other band, they've already waited long enough to see a band they paid to go see... I saw these guys at Rock City like a week ago they supported Disturbed after I came away I was singing there shit in my head and I've really started to get into them so ye I don't blame the crowd... THAT'S 'IF' THEY WERE A SUPPORT BAND :)
This was a music festival they were the early no name bands at this time. The next year they were later in the day & people were there just too see them. He took over the crowd. The video is on RU-vid it is he sang No more Love and had red hair.
i love the old band members! thats what MADE Shinedown! and now its really sad to hear their new stuff. i dnt like it as much as i like their old songs. they were so fucking hardcore.
This was a music festival they were the early opening bands. The next year they were one of the main bands. This is not good quality I have the DVD of this show it sounded much better.
@neverforever333 hey i think both bands are great but why did creed come back and now ab is on the back burner probly never going to play agian and shinedown is still going strong oh and i think ab is 10 times better than creed jsut saying they dont switch singers just for the hell of it
yeah that crowd is way lame!!! when i went to rockfest last year. people were telling to me be quiet! i was like what the F U CK!!! ITS A ROCK CONCERT!!! DRINK BEER< PARTY< and ROCK OUT!!
If the one guy on the left at 0:33 ever sees this comment. Way to go, you actually know how the fuck to act at a Shinedown concert. For the rest of you..*slap*
DUDE.... Take this down and post a better recording.... This Guy can SING and ROCK.... but your post makes them sound like crap! !!! do them a favor.... REPOST
