As you can see, in their "Juice" performance video Onew was unable to participate in this performance, so the other members took on his parts in the song. However, as you have already heard, if you listen to the album, you can hear Onew's voice and he creates an even richer feel to the song. That's just SHINee for you, even when one of their main vocalists is missing, the other members can step in and cover for them and they still manage to sound and look flawless. Although each of their voices adds their own district color to their songs that can't be replaced -- to be fair, all their songs are much better with all 5 of them -- but the other members are so good, that they never look or sound like they are lacking, no matter who is covering each part of the song. You should know by now after watching SHINee's MVs and then watching them perform those same songs in concert, that SHINee never perform their songs the same way twice. Their songs will always be more dynamic in their performances than any of their album versions, and they even take on a different vibe when you see them perform the song live. As you know, what sets SHINee apart as a group, is they also are recognized as some of the best vocalists in the industry. SHINee are referred to as CDINee or CD-eaters, because, as you have heard, they sound even better live. There's been a lot of debate whether "Hard" or "Juice" should be the lead/title track on SHINee''s Hard album -- SM wanted "Juice," to be the lead track, but the SHINee members insisting on "Hard." At this point, I think we all just need to trust SHINee knows what they are doing. Over the years, we have seen them prove time and time again, that they know how to be one step ahead of the trend. For example, Jonghyun wanted his song "Deja Boo" to be his solo debut song, but SM insisted on his song "Crazy (Guilty Pleasure)." And in the end, Jonghyun was right. "Deja Boo" became so popular as a b-side track that it had SM scrambling to find ways to showcase the song, proving Jonghyun knew what he was doing. And, "View" -- which is one of SHINee's most popular songs -- wasn't even a contender for SHINee's Odd album, until Jonghyun rewrote the lyrics and the members pushed SM to make it their lead track. In their recent 15m comeback reality show, Key, Minho and Taemin revealed that they all spent a lot of extra time making sure everything felt right with their Hard album. They wanted to release the album on May 25, the day of their 15th anniversary, but things needed work. For example, there was a section in "Hard" that needed some tweaking. So, instead of just rushing to get it done, they took the time to make it perfect. Key said that when they heard the final version of "Hard" -- which was sent to them while they were in Japan filming "The Feeling" MV -- his legs went numb and he knew "Hard" had to be their title track. LOL I think the members chose wisely. Although I love "Juice" because it does a really good job of showing exactly what makes SHINee one of the best of the best and no one can perform the way they do. However, "Hard" has a much more universally marketable/catchy sound when it comes to appealing to the mainstream public, and the choreography lends itself to being much easier to use for things like tiktok challenges, etc. than "Juice" would have been.
Yes, SHINee have done lots of live stages of several of their new songs. They actually performed "Hard" and "Juice" at their SHINee World Concert VI (SWC6) in Seoul the week before their comeback, so anyone who was lucky enough to attend one of the 3 days of the concert, or anyone who has watched the fancam footage, got an advance preview of the songs. Plus, you can see a live performance of "Hard", "Juice" and "10X" if you watch their comeback stages. They recently got their 4th win on music shows. They are sweeping all the competition right now. On BoA's talk show they performed an a capella version of "Like It" and a live performance of "Hard" and "Gravity." Also, if you watch the full "SHINee's - 15m Roadtrip comeback show," you will get to see new performances of some of their classic hits, as well as a mini fan concert where they also perform their new songs, "Hard," "Juice" and "10X" live. And in between it all, you get to see Key, Minho and Taemin on a roadtrip camping excursion as they look back on their 15 year career. It was really fun. I encourage everyone to check it out. You will get to see all 4 of the members in the dance studio practicing as they prepared for their comeback and concert. yeah the performance here deff brought it to another level. they have several live performances from music shows of it... but THIS is beyond epic. makes me appreciate the song even more. and i keep being impressed how they cover onews parts!! 🔥
this performance video is soooo good it makes me believe juice was also a title track (technically it was originally supposed to be before hard was chosen by members) alongside hard. the choreo really elevates this song
It really does hit different seeing them actually perform the songs! They had live stages for 10X, Like It and Gravity if you want to check them out, they also performed Identity (my favourite haha) and Sweet Misery at their concerts!
This performance is insane!! 🔥 Whenever SHINee releases a song it's worth looking for live performances because they manage to make everything better!! I highly recommend the performance of the SWC6, super energetic!! Btw, I think it's amazing how SHINee keeps their music and performances so relevant, if you present this video (or HARD's mv) to someone new, they can easily mistake the group as a fourth generation! About the funny video, it's amazing how they can be so chaotic together!!! I just love any interaction between them because there's ALWAYS something funny lol
Like "HARD" and "Juice" off the album, but LOVE "Sweet Misery" and "Like It". They did a live stage in Korea. Taemin will be celebrating his 30th BD in LA at KCON July 18th. These young men are a hoot. I've watched a lot of their videos where they're just silly/funny. Thanks for the reaction to the video. So hoping they tour the US/California in 23/24.
