As much as I love Erwin and Armin, I felt really bad for Levi... Don't be mad if he picked Erwin over Armin, cause he doesn't have anyone who he can depend anymore. He's been through tough times with Erwin after he was released from the underground by Erwin. He doesn't really deserve this much pain, he lost Farlan and Issabel, his whole squad, his uncle Kenny and now his own best friend... 💔💔💔
No actually. The studio messed up Levi's emotion in anime. It's so weird. It happens so many times. Better look at Levi's emotions in manga. That also for Eren, Erwin, Mikasa. Their emotions are weird in anime.
@@DBT1007 yeah, they even reworked the art in a bluray release of season 1: lenok993.tumblr.com/post/152286075571/attack-on-titan-tv-series-vs-blu-ray-comparison the one that got me most on season 3 is when berthold emits steam on armin, and mikasa looked, says something and focus back on reiner. it's so weird when her voice is so worried about eren and armin, but her face like "meh". reminds me of that mass effects andromeda "my face is tired" thing.
You can really feel the inner turmoil inside levi's head. Both deserve to live again and continue their lives, to continue to fight. They both deserve to find meaning in their lives, to achieve their goals. But in the end, levi chose armin. When levi said to erwin to die and give up his dream, erwin at that moment was at peace. Erwin throughtout his entire life was a life full of chaos and death. he believed that if he can focus on one goal, he can justify every decision he made, all the sacrifices and all the deaths around him. But that is not what erwin truly wanted. He wanted peace, he wanted to be free from everything. And when levi told him to die and give up his dream, that moment erwin was thankful. because finally, he can end everything. he can be set free. Levi realized that. That is what erwin truly wanted. To be free from this hell and rest.
No one knows Erwin more than Levi. A strong bond between them. He want to save Erwin, but began understand what is best for Erwin. Erwin makes Levi changes his choice to save Armin instead. Not even Mike and Hange knows Erwin's deep intention.
It wasn't so much choosing Armin to be saved from death, but to free Erwin from his burden and inner demons. They can't go on without being drunk on something..and Erwin was no exception.
I was so deeply invested into the episode that i didn't even notice the lack of music, until this started playing... I was a mess of tears when the episode ended. Thank you SNK, also this is a wonderful rendition.
The part where Hange opens Erwin's eyes and then the scene shifts to Armin really gets me. It shows how bittersweet life is for humanity- they cannot have victories without great loss.
What made this melody more powerful was that *the entire* episode was completely silent! There was not a single piece of music until Levi made the decision. The tension was absolutely staggering.
Oh...my...god.....The lack of soundtrack in this episode is what makes it so freaking intense... I have never ever gripped on to my seat as hard while watching a scene without any huge action scenes as well.... My god...
The lack of soundtrack created a grave, intense and realistic atmosphere. But the piece played at the end was beautiful. Thanks for another amazing cover❤ It turned out really emotional and beautiful.
@@DBT1007 It's from The Road to El Dorado, one of DreamWorks' first animated films back when they did 2d stuff like Prince of Egypt, not many people liked it at the time it came out and it was in the shadow of Shrek which came out roughly the same time so it never got popular, but I've loved it since I was a kid
Your piano playing is wonderful , now let me talk about AOT , my god ! It's the best thing I watched in my entire life in action in drama in sadness in mysteries in everything we are lucky to witness this
@@cripplingdepression6273 Yea people always hate anything that's popular if it isn't dragon ball or One Piece. They like to hold on to the past. You should've seen how angry people were when Attack on Titan surpassed One Piece in sales back in 2013.
It really hurts me to see people fighting over the choice... Even Erwin said..you will never know that your choice is right or wrong.... No one can ever tell what is right or wrong...our decision depend on the situation....Levi just wanted to let Erwin rest and be free....this episode for by far the most beautiful one.... God this piano music is making me cry again....
Game of Thrones was good till Season 6. Season 7 and 8 were pure trash. So far... The AoT manga isn't holding back and it's super good so far, really liking the direction Isayama is going with AOT
@@Samirxkhan ye I could never understand how does season 6 still be decent and have some remarkable classics such as The Door and Winds of Winter from outside of book source but the next thing they went into were big pile of shits.
Guys, Eren and Mikasa have a best friend, but Levi has one, too. But he no longer have his best friend. All units salute to the commander! Salute to Erwin!
I'm gonna miss Erwin so much. Such a strong character I enjoyed watching all this time... he and Levi had such a special bond... This episode was so well done and the voice acting was brilliant. I was bawling my eyes out while watching and I'll never forget Levi's Choice in my entire life. RIP Commander Erwin cRi
It’s hard to decide which one to recovery back specially those two great characters, each of them show that he deserve to stay alive. Erwin smith we will never forget you. Thanks for your work Pianoprinceofanime.
@@yoursonisold8743 THIS IS EXACTLY WHATS MAKES ME MAD TOO XD 3 years since Erwin died, we still don't get anything from Armin to prove. I'm not saying Erwin was the better choice, I'm happy Armin saved but dude he still prove nothing. YET
@@Roxst1905 The only things he did were the plan and the nuke during the Liberio ghetto attack. Neither of which would have been things Erwin couldn't do.
@@yoursonisold8743 You have to think about their ambitions. If Erwin found out the secret he's always wanted, he wouldn't want to be a commander anymore, no matter what was inside the basement. He said it himself, he was a selfish character. Looking at the state of Armin in the manga right now, he's pretty fucking useless though.
Never in my life I've cried so hard over a death of an anime character. The soundtrack just makes it easier to make me agonize in pain but I loved it. You are amazing btw ❤️
Was pretty much me throughout the last 3 episodes. I KNEW what was coming, I KNEW Erwin was gonna die and Armin was gonna live. But the cinematography, the music, the animation, the voice acting - especially Eren's in the last episode blew everything out of the park - all of that created something akin to the manga but even more impactful and emotionally scarring. My heart still aches, my eyes still water up from thinking about all of this. And I love it.
i knew what was gonna happen. sice I read the manga and i didn't expect to cry. But i'm still crying even after watching the episode after..Shit man i'm bawling
I can't believe my brother, who recommended me AOT, now thinks this show (and anime in general) is childish. The storyline is so well written, the music is on a total different level, the acting is out of this world, the emotions that I felt while watching the show and reading the manga cannot be described... This was a true masterpiece
Levi lost his family underground, his family in the scouts, and now his commander and best friend. A man of such caliber, now stands alone, so that others can stand together.
After I read the chapters with levi, the beast titan, Armin, Reiner and Bertholdt and it all leading to this scene I always prayed for a third season with 25 episodes. When it was announed I could not behold myself of excitement. I imagined all of it with insane animations. It was astonishing and even better than expected. And I thought of the insane music I could expect. And when it was legendary in Episode 5, it was unbelievable in Episode 6. 20 minutes of silence intensity to build up the best 20 seconds of OST we will ever be hearing. Thank you Saranowo, thank you WiT, thank you SnK.
Peeper Nucle4rP4nd4 Erwin was only chasing his dream and made many of his comrades sacrifice them hearts for his own dream (as devil), but finally he decided to give up his dream and sacrifice himself and get out of that hell, So Levi didn't want to bring him back to that hell to chase his dream again on mountain of comrades dead bodies
Zaid Masarweh | Your comment makes it seem Erwin was a communist. But really, should’ve used soldiers or Brothers & Sisters. You know, soldiers call each other brothers and sisters.
Levi would've eventually got out, but the military police would've either arrested him farlan and isabel for organizing and underground gang and smuggling, or they would have sent them back because they don't have citizenship on the surface
Eren is more tragic than Levi can ever be. According to the anime original ending theory which I think is true, Eren jaeger has gone through three timelines. The first timeline is when he runs away with mikasa and lives with her until he dies. In the first timeline he fulfilled mikasa's wish of living with eren. But for accomplishing mikasa's wish, Eren had to sacrifice his two other wishes. His friends living long lives, and paradis's freedom. In the second timeline, Which is basically the whole manga, he doesn't run away with mikasa since her wish is already fulfilled. Instead, he let's his friends live long lives, and shows Armin the scenery from the book, giving Armin his wish. again, he sacrificed his very own wish of freeing Paradis. In the third timeline, which is the anime, Eren is going to accomplish his own goal, and not the others since he already granted Armin's and Mikasa's wishes in the previous two timelines.
An already dramatic song/ost becomes more dramatic than it was at the start and reached EPICNESS, i love your work! its just marveluss ( i can`t stop listening to this)
You know how much this anime is special to you when you read almost 100% of the actual comment section to see if they feel like you, what a masterpiece !

I dont think there wont be an ep that can top the intensity this ep had...if there is..then i dont thing my heart can withstand anymore then it did so far
Glad I got to hear such an epic and wonderful performance of this OST this morning. Thank you Prince for this and please keep doing what you do best cause it always puts a smile to myself even if the composition is grim in its tone cause I can always appreciate the effort that went into it as well as knowing when it's a beautiful performance. My friend, that was fantastic as always
Yay! Another amazing cover! I’m glad Levi chose Armin but that doesn’t mean I still don’t feel bad for poor Erwin! And poor Levi since he was the one who actually had to make the choice... ahhhh!!! My heart!!!!😭😭😭
We should just let erwin rest... you know who im really sorry for? Armin. Why? Because most people in the walls are gona be like "LEVI SHOULD HAVE CHOSEN ERWIN AND NOT YOU" Just imagen so many people wanting you dead after you did so much shit to save humanity
I am so mad about this! Just watched the episode and cried like a river, because Erwin was my favorite character in AoT. I loved him, and his sense of sacrifice and everything he said to his soldiers before riding into death. And i dont want to hate on Armin, but if in the end it was the wring choice to let him life...i swear im gonna go berserk... Anyways, Soundtrack sounds so powerful and filled with emotion, I feel like crying knowing that Erwin wont come back...
I adore both Erwin and Armin, yet throughout the episode I found myself wanting Armin to be chosen. Because Erwin had already accepted his death and given up on his dream. Levi had helped him do it. Erwin had passed to torch onto Armin by giving him command of the mission. Armin was still determined to keep his promise to Eren. Erwin brought them so far, but Armin is the future. But ultimately it had to be Levi's choice who lived. And it wasn't Hange's comment to Mikasa about letting go - he knew that all too well - but the other soldier's depiction of Erwin as a demon that helped him realize it was time to let his best friend rest. Beautiful. This moment, this song, your cover. Thank you for keeping the emotion of this story strong in our hearts with your music!
Ok, even if I already knew what was going to happen because I was spoiled, honestly this episode was epic AF. Pretty awesome how many elements they were in old episodes to prepare this scene…
@@PianoPrinceOfAnime I knew the scene of Armin/ Mikasa/ Eren talking in ep 12 was going to be important, when I saw it I was teriffied and surprised that nobody notice this scene after ep 12, but even if I noticed it, I didn't notice that the fact of Livaï listening could be important too. + Kenny talking about dream, everything was calculated and even me who has been spoiled, I didn't notice anything…
This music is SO SO SO DAMN GOOD! OMG what a feeling, what a thought, it's like our ground was falling but suddenly we could fly, it's unspeakable, beautiful! Thank you

This episode is still not available in my country and you've already made this cover. Wow! I really like your cover and Sawano's music 😊 Btw 5:12 it's the same melody of Tennessee (Pearl Harbor) 😮😮😍
@@PianoPrinceOfAnime I know, I've read the manga, but watching the anime is totally different! I can't wait to hear the soundtrack and to see the animations that are always awesome! 😍
The soundtrack and Levi’s internal dilemma is what really makes the moment shine. Thank you for a wonderful rendition of it! You really captured the feelings 😭
A truly amazing episode. Everyone was being emotional but are trying to bring forth logical reasons as to why Erwin or Armin is the right choice. In the end, Levi made an emotional choice for the one he considers as his best friend. And then the music hits and tears start coming down.
People always judged Levi's decision, but Erwin quite literally told him "how are you sure that there isn't any other soldier alive on the battlefield" Erwin didn't want it. And Erwin deserved an end to his suffering.
It should have been erwin. not to mention, armin lacks the experience and skills comparing erwin, so that colossal titan would be put to good use, however, I understand why levi chose armin, and I acknowledge armins brilliancy but I still think erwin deserved to live
I watched the episode and then in the last scene I heard the most beautiful soundtrack so I can here as fast as u can imagine knowing that u will upload its cover u r the best ❤❤❤
This episode was like... I do not know ... as if in the wwii they had to decide between the life of Patton, or that soldier with incredible talent and potential for the future
.. A little tear?! Damn, I was bawling my eyes out during this scene! It's so heartbreaking and the anime managed to portray the vast mixture of emotions so well 😭
se me eriza la piel! creo que revivo cada momento y sentimiento que viví en todo el anime con cada presión del teclado. Muchas gracias por esta magnífica pieza!!
For some strange reason this one melody just popped into my head one night. I had absolutely no clue where it was from but it seem so painfully familiar, I thought I should look. I spent hours thinking, looking up little clue words from animes I've seen, tried to look up the work from actual composers but I couldn't find it. I was about to give up after a long time of searching but then suddenly, i saw this video pop back up in my recommended again but I thought nothing of it. I don't know what I was thinking or what told me to just click the video and cancel my search mid through but I'm glad I did because I found the melody that was haunting me some time. That fact that this soundtrack had such an impact on me and I've only heard it once, amazing.
Thank you so much for creating this! I really wanted to listen to it yesterday. You're such a fast and efficient worker, your music never fails to amaze me.
the sad but sweet irony is that Erwin got the better deal, he could finally rest knowing he was willing to put himself on the line like so many of the people who followed him, he no longer has to tell mothers and fathers about their child's death by his command or bury any more comrades. In a sense he was kinda spared from having to face the reality of his actions and was allowed to die with dignity and leave the burden for his friends to shoulder. He saved Armin's life before he died.
