@Apexplyr well the best argument to point how sc is balance is to show him the progress of the game this past 6 years, so that a player can realize how much the game has change. i love the era were protoss were pawning everyone and also the early age of sc where terrans were the best. nowadays is a battle to the top no matter the race, just the player the best example is what flash did in last OSL, he was like the only terran in RO8 and he won the damm thing

Incredible the way Flash laid down those mines.. 99% of other players wouldn't have the apm to do that. Wow, just incredible.

That was a lot of ultras and mines and tanks. I also loved the valkyrie opening, even though it failed hard. And Flash wins anyway, that's pretty insane...

I have to disagree with ur math. 1 zergling can survive a mine (if it was moving), and can take out 2-3 mines at a time. Running 1 zerglings at a time through mine fields (perhaps having overlords around to see 'em) can clear mine fields out rather easily.

Big mistake not backing up those Ultras with defilers - and even bigger mistake not to let lings drag the mines to the tanks.

@aoahuj I think you are right. Kwanro lost way to many units because of mines. That beeing said Flash has soooo good mine-control.. He always seem to avoid friendly damage by mines.

He just kept making Ultras just to get completely shit on by mines. I've never seen so many Ultras die in a single game. Truly tragic.

Props to Flash for experimenting with an unconventional mech build on a heavily terran-favored map to give us a more entertaining game (almost losing the game in the process). Only thing I was missing from Flash's part was a valkyrie comeback to handle those queens.

yea, I don't think flash even BUILT a Science Facility. At the 30 minute mark, his tank upgrades were 0-0. I think Kwanro really didn't know how to respond to it. And he was beaten to confusion during midgame because he had no idea what to do. He probably wouldn't know what 2+2 is because he was so confused.

Spider mines are free. Make one vulture, 3 of them comes for one upgrade. You get a good unit to fight zerglings for 75 minerals, and 3 perfect counter to Dark Swarm + Ultra for free! What a deal.

Unupgraded mutas aren't going to do much against whatever upgrades Flash had. Presumably 3 3, but there's something wrong with the video, and it says 0 0 for both players.

@LucLeFou SC is not completely balanced, races have slight advantages against each other (~5%), and if you followed the metagame in any way, you should've realised this a long time ago.

im not saying flash used the mines effectively, im saying zerg has it harder to deal with than toss does. Invis detector+ storm + Goons (which they use against T) while zerg only have really hydras (which they rarely use against T) and ultras to deal with it, and their nuisance of a detector

@VinsonWood Hows ling / ultra is unorthodox? If you mean queens, they were there just to broodling tanks which is also normal, now if he went infested terrans and did some crazy drops with them it would be unorthodox :)

@MrOovie Spawn spawn broodling on tanks is NOT "normal". It's not the first time... but it's definitetly not normal at all.

midgame on, there was no muta nor lurkers so why would he need sci vessels? both players played unorthodox, not surprising the tech wasn't the same as standard play.

This is painfull to watch. Making Ultras to counter mech is like making Carriers to counter mass Goliaths. Also bad sunken placement.

first off, when terran use mech, zerg usually go muta/hyralisk and brooling tanks isn't very standard play at all, i don't know what your on lol.

the winner played really bad (by his standards) at the start (odd tech choices at times), but survived and just absolutely beautiful macro won it for him at the end! so dominant

@kyo8219c Well, it's all relative, but I would call that heavily terran-favored compared to other maps. Regardless, it's obvious that Flash is purposely playing a very experimental and risky build order. I don't know his exact reason for this, if it's the map, his opponent or some other circumstance, but I like that he chose to experiment and entertain the viewers rather than going for his standard m&m builds which would likely have been a much easier win.

@mfonti I think it would be kinda futile with 0 upgrades on those mutas, they would have to be fighting at least 2-1 gols.

i'm wondering if a switch to mass muta around the time kwanro made the queens would have allowed him to kill enough tanks to tilt the game in his favor. probably not, but meh.

Kwanro should have switched over to the Flash build to fight against Flash's build. Fire fire with fire right? In seriousness, those mines were what won Flash the game.

Kwanro needs to build some cheap lings to clear those mines. Not ram expensive ultras into them.

It's just superficially balanced, but not really. Yes, terran has a stronger army. But zerg can make its army faster, it's more mobile, its expansions are cheaper, and it it has spells. Plague and mutas were underused this game IMO, but both sides played incredibly.

he thought... if he made guardians, 1: he would have spent a lot of minerals 2: the goliaths can quickly take them out 3: he went for a ultra and queen build

Zergs have zerglings (cheap, no gas) to clear out the mines. If the z had excess apm, i'm sure he would've done that.

around 12-14 minutes in, there was a grace period for Kwanro. If he massed mutalisks and scourge, he could've had the game :(

A quick muta tech switch could have done Kwanro a lot of GOOD...

flash basically got really pissed that he got tech switched, said "fuck you kwanro" and rolled him with a late game tech switch and being the lesser human being, kwanro didnt switch to muta hydra early enough to win.

props to kwanro for trying to be fancy, but a simple batch of mutas wouldve done wonders mid game.

Kwanro can mass muta SOOO much faster than Flash can mass Goliath. Not to mention that Goliath do half damage to muta and aren't effective at all in low numbers. This game illustrates why you CANNOT go Ultra/ling against mech. Mine tank is too cost efficient.

이경기에서 오버러드 드랍을 뭐 대충 10번했다 치면 디파일러 다크스웜이 5번? 아니 1/3 정도만 스웜이 펴졌으면 어뜨게 됐을지 모름.......그리고 그놈에 마인위로 계속 떨구고 비상식적인 전투손해를 덜입었으면..... 충분히 저그가 잡았다 한상봉이 못해서 진게 아니라고봄 다만 세심한 부분이 아쉬움.... 그리고 또 그런 메카닉 상대하는 테란 잘때려잡는 이제동보면 진짜 이제동은 이제동이다 다른 저그와는 진짜 클래스가 다르다는걸 느낌;;

the zerg lost because he let the spider mines blow up for aoe damage to multiple utralisks send in one ultra at a time to soak up many mines, or send a overlord + hydralisk to kill mines to save ultras and zerg would have won
