Nice job Ben! To prevent getting shocked, I bought one of those wrist straps with the grounding wire. It shunts the static electricity to the frame of the belt sander. I found out about it on a 357magdad video.

Nice cleanup Ben. It’s nice to see you doing videos more often now. I’m curious as to what grit did you use with flap wheel and what grit with the belt sander?
@mrbenmall
@mrbenmall Год назад
The flap disk was originally 65 I think. But it was worn on the edges. The belt was so old, I'm not sure what it was. But I'd say (guessing) it was about 100. Thanks Frank.

@@mrbenmall what was wrong with what you were using before? Just the mike on your camera I assume? Were you just looking to get a little higher quality to your content?
@mrbenmall
@mrbenmall Год назад
@@timeflysintheshop I was using the microphone on my iPhone 13. The phone is quite far away using the zoom function and the volume would always be very soft to where I had to turn it up all the way in post. I am beginning to realize that there is no inexpensive solution. I probably need to spend the money and buy a legit, good directional microphone. I do not like the sound of the Lavalier mics. At least not the cheaper ones that I've been trying.
