I love that they kept playing that Seigmen cover Ohm for several years; they did it justice and it fits perfectly. And to listen to Niklas singing in norwegian is quite cute
Back about 20 years ago, when i was a moderator on the FMP forums, i had to rip into Nikolas. He wasn't sending out merch to people who had paid for it. That was a bad time in his life. But he did come thru and do what was right. I love and respect that from him. He was very respectful to me and i appreciate that. All hails to the man he has become. It hasn't been easy for him. But.. it's what we do. Our Black souls through our music. 🤘
Yeah, I've only started paying attention to Niklas/Shining because of Behemoth... The band fucking shreds... Niklas seems to vary between one of the best and worst black metal front men depending on the performance and the amount of drugs he's on. On point here.
Dude is fucked in the head, but he seems like a chill dude overall (got to meet him back in 2014). If you ask me (don't know him personally though) he just seems to get a kick out of fucking with the audience and interviewers, which is something I can respect. There are too many politically correct frontmen already, Niklas is a breath of clean and authentic air in the black metal "mainstream" scene

The european tour started in Berlin, was Taake. Kvarforth hat high fever and opened a before closed bottle of whiskey. Hoest stand next to the stage in case Kvarforth can't continue. The Shining set was not really my thing but this guy is living insanity and not just singing about it. And Hoest a good buddy. It was 2 minutes from a very left region in Berlin. I thought Taake might be a problem but these idiots didn't get aware of that show. A guy in a wheel chair came into the club and every moved left or right so he is getting into the first row. This is some of the extreme stuff (comparing to other rock/metal bands) but the way everyone was treated was amazing. Hoest would have replaced Kvarforth but Kvarforth was like: "this is my lifestyle". The worst concert I have been to was a punk concert. Good band and sound but a horrible cloud. Too much tickets sold, many were on drugs so they didn't know their metallic armbands and their joints could hurt someone. The Sabaton concert in Berlin (2017?) was nice but at the holocaust song you have seen many hitler salutes and no one cared (it is a crime here). The crowds of Black Metal or "sweet" metal (like Delain) were much better. Sabaton is like wearing a Metallica shirt and not knowing Enter Sandman to me...

The best most creative artists in the world have gimmicks. It’s a way to broaden your audience and have it be more appealing. No doubt this man is interesting especially at first glance haha
