Earlier this year, in January, Shinji and I had plans to photograph his FD when I was at Pit Road M for work - but due to scheduling conflicts we weren't able to make it happen. Last month, however, I found myself back in Osaka, and Pit Road had just finished an engine rebuild on the car, just in time fit in a shoot. We arranged to meet with his crew in Kobe and head to Awaji Island together.
Shinji picked me up at the local station, Nishi-Maiko, and we made the trip across the Akashi-Kaikyo bridge to the rest stop at Awaji A couple of his friends had brought the FD on a flat bed earlier in the morning to make the logistics of the day easier. Because he was coming from Tokushima, it was also easier than driving the FD as its not the most comfortable car to drive on the street - its street registered still, but a race car by all definitions of the word.
Shinji is a construction worker in the Tokushima area, and frequents Central Circuit and the local togue in his free time. Full article to follow //
