Hey Josh this is super good info on Shinn boards currently rockin Monk /bronq luigi /bronq chromatic . Bronq chromatic fitted with 30mm fins amazing in powered choppy conditions unbelievable edge grip with amazing carve also love the way you can slide it thru a turn so comfortable as well , have an absinthe coming and truly hope it still retains the ability to break it loose for quickly slashing around
Good info on the Absynth. Didnt we expect new boards around easter? No boards 23, won't he launch new boards for 24 neither? Any update? I want to buy the absynth but I want to wait for the new models, it should be due. Any info about it?
Hi, I just talked with Mark Shinn via email and company is having legal troubles due to some shady investors… so everything is frozen. He has had new boards designed but is unable to release them. He did say if this legal trouble does not resolve in next couple of months then he might start a new company called Mark Shinn instead of just Shinn. Hope this helps… I would probably buy Absinthe if I was u… who knows when this will be resolved
Hi Josh, I'm new, but I've improved a bit, I can go upwind and make simple turns. Until now, I have always learned with rented equipment, but this year I am buying full equipment for myself for the first time. I tried Core xr7 and core sensor 3s pro bar last year and liked them very much, and I am also planning to buy Shinn Absinthe 137x42, which I found at an affordable price. 2022 model. Approximately 480 euros because it is a brand new product but has cosmetic defects. In the new year, I aim to improve my free ride style and move on to pop and jumps. I weigh 78 kg and am 1.78 tall. Is this a product you would recommend for my first board?
The Vilion will be your best beginner board, but I really like to the Monk too for a beginning board because you will have room to grow. That being said your will still learn on the Absinthe but it is a very fast board and does not engage as well at low wind conditions which are good for beginning kiters. Also, in terms of the size of board you pick, I would go slightly bigger on board size than you normally ride for learning basics.
Go Ronson… room to grow board or Monk if u want silky smooth ride however it won’t have the pop that Ronson will have if you get into big air down the road
When are new 23 boards coming? Any reason for delays? Was looking forward for a release in Spring, and nothing. I have Bronq from 2020, any reason to upgrade to Absinthe? Better to wait for 23 version?
I just talked to Mark today (via email) and he said 23s are ready to go but he is waiting for the market to settle down from clearing inventory. In terms of Bronq vs Absinthe….the Absinthe is definitely a step up in performance. It has a much crisper yet softer feel under feet compared to Bronq….in other words…not as skatie/loose in turns and handles chop much better
@@Homaqwerty Not looking good. He has been a representative for Axis foils lately. However, he did mention in my last email conversation that if these legal troubles (which he was not involved with) don’t resolve soon…that he may start a new board company called “Mark Shinn”. I will try and reach out to him soon-ish to get another update
