Shinobu Kocho had a big secret among all of the Hashira that she managed to keep from everyone but her older sister, and that is that as much as she hates to admit it, Shinobu is naturally quite an airhead, despite how intellectual she truly is. This presents itself in the story when Kanae and Shinobu stumble upon Kanao, and decide to name the girl so they can take her in as their new sister. Kanae thinks of reasonable names, but Shinobu comes up with stuff like Suzume or Bird, Hakobe or Plant, and Tanago which means Fish. When they put all of the names the sisters picked onto little papers so that Kanao could choose from them herself, the older sister was VERY confused at Shinobu’s choices, which actually ticked the future flower Hashira off. When it came time for Kanao to choose from the papers, she NEARLY picks the name Kamasu which means Barracuda, however with UNSEEN BEFORE SPEED, Kanae switches the paper so that Kanao can get a pretty name instead, and even Shinobu herself doesn’t notice as she folds origami rabbits and cranes, and thankfully it happened like this, because Kanao’s name represents their wish for her to smile some day.

Huh is there an actual difference? Because in my own understanding, Shinobu anime and manga are just the same. She is an actual nice person but because of her sister's death, she became filled with rage and revenge towards the demons and Douma.
