I think these might actually be the scratch tracks that were composed before the music was converted to work on the NES sound chip! Might explain why these were never released commercially.
I think the narrator says the silhouetted robot masters are hidden for now but they'll announce the contest winners on release. I also learned recently that 100 of the entrants to the boss contest received an "Rockman 2 Original Music" cassette, I wonder if that's where these song tracks are from?
Oh more promo rockman 2 music? Guess I have some covers to bang out. The tracks sound like they're using the sound set from cps1 street fighter 2,with the drums from super. Let's goooo
Well, I did an attempt to do so on my channel. A Yamaha DX7 keyboard and Yamaha RY-30 drum machine were most likely used here from what I can tell and find.
Can anyone identify what instruments are being used for the MM2 demo tracks heard here? Something tells me I hear the infamous Korg M1 slap bass in the Wily Theme
It's most likely a Yamaha DX7 keyboard and a Yamaha RY-30 drum machine being used here. The DX7 was highly popular at the time, and the Yamaha RY-30 was released before these demo tapes were made, and that said drum machine was also used in the early Mega Man X games as well.
God. That Wily theme makes me think of a scenario of Mega Man rushing in Dr. Wily's fortress courtyard while the alarms are going off then the enemies coming out to attack him seeing his presence there. Mega Man: 'Air Buster! ...I'll sweep you all out from the ground!' *With that the wave of ground based enemies are slammed against the fences and brick walls horribly* *Covering a perimeter of the courtyard as Mega Man is running across the field. Later encountering Bird Bombers* 'If that's how you play it. LEAF..! SHIELLLD---!..' *Flashes a green color and poses dramatically while glaring. Destroys birds coming out from eggs* 'Now I'll turn up the heat with Heat Wave. HEAT WAVE..! Incinerate and plow down the enemy from my way!' *Charges up then blasts Sniper Joes with it*
Interesting how they added an E-tank to the end of Flash Man's stage if you cross the platforming section at the top of the screen. Seems like they wanted to give an incentive other than a shortcut if you had crash bomber, which makes sense, cause who's playing flash man's stage that late in the game? Lmaoo
