They gave you the choice to pick between Bulbasaur and Squirtle because when you evolve them to their full form they actually made a gigantic Max form for them

The story is is that since Leon has charizard when he was at the isle of armor he chose charmander which made bulbasaur and squirtel the only starters left to choose

Think right now you can get shiny zeraora all you need is Pokémon home on a phone and on your switch deposited a Pokémon from your shield game into Pokémon home then log into Pokémon home on your phone press the bottem bitten and go to mystery gift then press the bottom bitten again and you get level 100 shiny zeraora you also get all the stater Pokémon
