Have you ever wondered what a ship would look like if it was taken out of the sea, and brought to dry land? Wonder no more. Here's a clip of the underside of a massive ship in the dockyard, showing the rudder and propeller.
@@azathoth01 it really isn't, the co2 pollution these ships produce is INSANE the use the worst and cheapest fuel and pupm all of the exhausts unfiltered into the air
If u didn't know, this is called dry-docking of a ship. Ships dry-dock to get repaired, re-painted and tighten nd fix everything right every 2 years or so. So the dock is lowered, sea water takes it's place and when the ship enters the waters, the dock is raised up again to help the ship completely comes on land thus helping workers and engineers repair each and everything perfectly. :)
Wow!! It's not just the propeller that's massive, it's the rudder that looks gigantic. What a scene! I wish i could be there to see this in person sipping a tea.
Idk why, but when I was a kid, (don't worry I only saw a few parts of the movie) I laughed so hard in that scence and the other one when the deck guy shot himself
That wouldn't happen. The ship is pushing the water away not pulling it. So, naturally you would be pushed away from it. Unless the shipped started reversing
@@lemonroi see how huge this ship actually is!!!!! though we r watching this virtually but imagine watching this live . Peoples with megalophobia would be scared to see this but for some people it's fascinating
Think about how we thought aircraft carrier where the largest thing around well in terms of tonnage they are small just over 100,000 tons when a tanker can have a tonnage of 200,000 tons empty and over 500,000 tons fully loaded its insane
I don't think they like to make aircraft carriers to big on purpose. As it is meant for fighting. They need to have some degree of mobility and agility. When you are getting shot at by missiles and other things.
@dominic amoe your understanding me. already makes my language skills good And it's better than understanding a language but still getting pissed like a 13 year old. Kid go home your mom must be waiting for you
Titanics rudder was too small and had 3 screws the central one was powered by a steam turbine and could only go forward if they would've used thrust differential it probably could've made that turn
