Never heard Mr. Durant's voice before, though I've long been familiar with his magnificent histories. Obviously smart, he seemed personable, looking dapper & courtly as well. The interviewer seemed a little uninformed, asking rather childish questions. He wasn't terrible by any means just a little odd in his questioning & demeanor. For my money, the interview could've been much longer; on the other hand, since the interviewer kind of ruined it for me anyway, perhaps it was well it ended when it did. A pity.
No it was perfect the way it was. If he didn't ask the questions in a original and very brittish manner he never would have got such a thought provoking answer. These sorts of things can't be studied for nor can they be asked by someone who doesn't k ow what he's talking about
The microphone looks very directional, so they likely had to stand close to pick up both their voices. Some reporters hate having to switch the microphone back and forth.
