Cruise news today. 17 cruise ships are now impacted by Hurricane Milton. Cruise ports across Florida are going into prep mode as tropical storm force winds expected to reach Florida on Wednesday afternoon. A landslide near Ketchikan, Alaska, trapped nearly a dozen people on Sunday night. Christine Duffy will skydive on October 19 to raise $50,000 for Hurricane Helene relief efforts. My cousin’s on the Sun Princess after boarding in Barcelona 25 days ago. Instead of docking in Ft. Lauderdale, they’ve been turned back to do circles in the Atlantic. The many thousands of pax on 17 ships who can’t return to FL ports have an unimaginable headache managing all their travel plans when they have no idea when the ports will reopen. My cousin’s comment was, “Hope we have enough food!”

I’m on the Sun now too. Had 3 passengers with critical illnesses taken off this morning- one by helo! Fellow passengers seemed to be doing fine. Airlines have rebooked flights for Friday without any hassle!

We just got off the Carnival Liberty Sunday the 6th and on the 5th, we went through some of the outer bands of this storm and it threw deck loungers around the pool deck like they were nothing and they had to drain the pool.. I sure am glad they monitor these storms, I wouldn't want to ride out a hurricane in my house, much less a ship.

Was on the NCL Star on the Mexican Riviera when Hurricane Ric hit, it was the 2nd worst hurricane in the Pacific now the 3rd 2009 or 2010 You have to leave port or the ship will be destroyed from the storm surge. We left port and headed west had to skip Cabo NCL handled it masterfully, rough sea but lots of sunshine, Lido buffet stayed open 24 hours a day where I learned that green apples will clear up seasickness instantly Stay safe boy’s and girl’s

Morning Doug, Thanks for update. It’s great to hear Carnival with record profits trying to raise fifty thousand. Dolly Parton donates a million of her own money. I guess for Carnival, that new private cruise port really strapped them. At least they are trying to help. Doug, your family , staff and you stay safe.
