you know, many years ago when i first heard her i wasnt thrilled with her style---but it turned out to be an acquired taste and now i love her laid back style which i guess what a lot of folks in brazil went through when they first herd the really laid back and whispering style of jao gilberto in the fifties

So glad I had a chance to see this remarkable lady in person in San Francisco. What a talent. R.I.P. Miss Shirley Horn.

Shirley Horn is the ultimate Jazz singer ,its all there , the way she accompanys herself on piano , Nat Cole , Dianne Krall , had it ,but shes still my favourite , a true legend .

You know Dennis, there are just SOOOO many wonderful singers. This is all so wonderful. I live in the USA... never did they show the festivals on TV, its a whole new world seeing what artist traveled to there, Japan, Italy France so wonderful! Shirley was a wonderful singer. I thank you for these wonderful posts.

The great jazz pianist, Peter Martin mentioned Ms Shirley Horn in his "2 minute Jazz" clips & that's where I got educated about this legend. This song....28 years later.... Wow. Timeless!
